Is there a way to set up templates, such as...?

I would like to be able to get to work on a new piece when inspiration strikes without having to set up an entire orchestra or band.

I'd like to be able to open an orchestral template and have sfz on multiple tracks with one or more string tracks and one or more woodwind tracks and the same for brass and then also a percussion track.

Or a pop template with a bass track a drum track a piano, etc.

Right now the best solution I can come up with is to create a new project. Set it up as an orchestral project and then don't use it.

When I want to work on a new orchestral piece I could copy the orchestral project folder, give the copy a new name and work in that new project.

Maybe that is as good of a solution as any other.

Anyone have any ideas?

Could Library Projects have anything to do with this?
I never really understood Library Projects and how to use them.

Yeah, ISTR you can use library projects, but I tried it once and found some odd behaviour.

The library thing seems a little under-developed, so I haven't spent any real time exploring the depths.

I have a empty template project with all my most used instruments. I created it, then exported it as an archive. So its ready to use whenever I start a new project. I just start a new project in Tracktion then unpack the template into that folder and work with that.

Also if all you want is a quick collection of instruments to get started, maybe you can create a rack with all your orchestral instruments inside (not connected of course), then just quickly drag them from the rack to each track. Depending on how many instruments it is, i think it would be pretty fast. And it would be available all the time.
