Yes. My experience with Win10 and the nightmare I had trying to disable S Mode and the amount of ridiculous gimmicks from os to os has steadily risen over the decades. Designed to enthrall small minded people who get excited with gimmicks rather than to be practical for the user.

well, i haven't had any of the negative experiences you mentioned. so i guess you have very specific needs which Microsoft is unable to satisfy. you should probably write your own OS. because EVERY platform which is meant to be univerally useful is going to have features which you do not think are useful or necessary. the only relevant question is whether you can get the job done using it. if Windows has not allowed you to achieve that, then you SHOULD move on. good luck.

Why? Because this actually happened to me? That's not my fault! Are you intellectually challenged or something? If you have a diagnosis of some sort, I'll let it pass, but wake up. Have you even heard of S Mode? Have you ever considered that softly rolling windows that expand when you hover your mouse over them are not necessary? How many times have you ever used MS Paint or any of the other MS software bundled with Winbloat? What exactly are you criticizing about my post and why?

We've just had our first ever Win10 nightmare and we have only just got the computer. M's laptop running Win8 went kaput and her dad ordered a new one with Win 10. Win10 is by default in S Mode which means only Microsoft Store apps can be used. You can get out of S Mode by accessing Microsoft store using the MS Store App. Problem is, she can't get online because the dongle that gets us online doesn't run an MS Store app, so isn't recognized by Win10.
