Hi,

I have a bunch of samples that are in multiple "banks" or "kits" and I'm wondering, if I were to purchase the full version of MSoundFactory, is there a way I could create an instrument/device that would allow me to switch between sample banks without having to modify the global presets?

Sort of like:
Instrument
--Jazz kit (loading my brush samples)
--Rock kit (more rock oriented samples)
--Boom bap kit (when I'm in a NY state of mind)
--etc...
All within the same device.

Could I load up all my sample kits in discrete "Sampler" instances, and just activate/deactivate them at will?

Let me know if this doesn't make sense.

It's technically possible and there is a multiple way to do it. It'll depend of your need ( using the sampler module or the mdrumer module inside the fx Tab. )

however, i'm taking this opportunity to talk about an issue that i had when thinking about building a sampled based instrument.

From what i know, it's not possible to assign directly the preset button of sampler to a Multiparameter. The only way that I've found is to link the  Bank selection of the sampler module to a multiparameter.

This technic works pretty well, but  number of bank available for a module is limited to 64. so that's 64 presets per sample module. we could work around that by adding sampler modules, but i feel like this not the most optimized way of handling sampled devices.

Plus, i had in mind to upgrade those samples bank. It could work smoothly if an user just had to download the preset  packed with the samples  but in this actual system it will ask to delete and reinstall the device since it has a different structure ( i dont know if it's clear let me know ).

Correct, Banks for the sampler would be the way to go. Or you can load multiple samples into each region and switch between them manually.
As for presets - since there is virtually unlimited number of them and there's a hierarchical structure, switching between presets is tricky to say the least.
