It doesn't have to be through the forum. The points Ploki raised are reasonable and how well software is mantained varies a lot between devs.plexuss wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 9:23 pmIf I were a dev I'd definitely not use these forums to communicate with customers! Maybe they had good intentions and then found trying to babysit everyone one here was just not possible. I'd 100% respect that.

I guess my expectations are low in that I don't expect every bug to be dealt with. I expect the software to generally run well with no critical bugs. I don't see any critical bugs in their products and they all work well for me. I don't need any updated at this point. If I need support they are an email away and do respond.attention ♥ wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 10:12 pmIt doesn't have to be through the forum. i think part of the thing is is that they used to chime in on various 2C threads pretty regularly but don't anymore so to some people the absence may seem curious or something.plexuss wrote: Sat Jun 26, 2021 10:21 pmI guess my expectations are low in that I don't expect every bug to be dealt with. i don't have any complaints either. B2 is their only plug in i use and it's fine and sounds great and is unique to my ears as a sound design tool.
i own kaleidoscope and wish i could sell it w/o the crazy license transfer fee... either that or an update to add more of the features they talked about long ago which would perhaps make it more useful to what i do. as it is now it's just a very complicated way to make variations of combfilter type sounds. though i've gotten some interesting mangling in that one mode that's more like distortion/shaping and what not. they talked about a bigger update that adds more modes and broadens its palette but that was years ago.
i hope they're all doing well and enjoying productive drama free days doing what they do.

they're having a summer sale so at least that side of things is functioning... i guess.

It's still the same sale from last year that was supposed to finally end in January according to an email from them. It's still ongoing. Edit: seems they have a different promo, but the old sale never ended. I checked their shop just a couple of days ago. Edit: OK, they are going even lower... $99 for Kaleidoscope, wow... not sure if that's a good sign though.dayjob wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 6:45 pm they're having a summer sale so at least that side of things is functioning... i guess.

I’m personally surprised that anyone uses it at all. I demoed it again with my new super screaming PC and it still runs like crap.

it needs a refresh in every way and more modes beyond the strings, springs and FIR which is really the only one i find interesting and what convinced me to buy it oh soooo many years ago. otherwise it's a really complex brainy way to make a million different ambient comb filter physical modeling type sounds. i was hopeful they'd refine it and add more modes to make it more versatile. i tried to sell it once or twice but w/their license transfer policy it worked out to just not be worth selling.zerocrossing wrote: Sat Jul 17, 2021 9:55 pmI’m personally surprised that anyone uses it at all. i opened it today to mess around and it doesn't run well on my six core i9 macbook pro under Big Sur.
shrug. i hope they get it together and update their plug ins. B2 is still one of my favorite sound design tools and sort of ultimate weird reverb.
