Good day,

Thanks for your time. I am testing Waveform Pro (a 90-day trial). I am really happy with my current DAW's stability and endless customizability.

This post is about speeding up my workflow.

Waveform has some functionality that I want to use to speed up my music production process - Chord track, Arranger track, Pattern Generator etc. I do not want to work in different DAWs.

My current DAW allows me to create key shortcuts for virtually everything so as soon as I run into an editing function in Waveform that can not be set up via a shortcut I hit a wall and close the application for a few days until I try again.

Three (of many) things I do when editing audio (in my DAW which I shall not name) is to:
1. Cut an audio clip at two points at once (maybe just one word of a singer), and nudge that word (a small amount) to the left or right to do some time editing. This is done with one action (alt + right/left arrow)
2. Cut an audio clip at two points at once, and boost the clip's gain up or down one db with the up or down arrow. This is done with one action as well (alt + up/down arrow) Clip automation is much slower so I am not using that.
3. Double click to split an audio clip at one point. I feel it is faster than to hover and hit a key.

There are more things but I will sacrifice missing functionality I do not use often. I know there is the Macro Editor in Waveform. Since it is code-based and not as easy to group together virtually any functionality in the easy way I am used to, I would like to ask first before I start spending hours to figure out the Macro editor:

>>> Will the things I am explaining be possible in the Macro Editor? Which is the best online resource to guide me through learning Waveform's custom macro process?

Thanks for your time.

I don't think you can customize the behavior of double-clicking. One way to get around that might be to use a mouse that has programmable buttons that can send out key commands after being set up in the corresponding software.
