Bah.
My 1995 Toyota Corolla doesn't have power windows. It doesn't have power locks. I have to use a CD Walkman through a car-kit (plugged into my cassette player) in order to listen to discs in my car. No air conditioning, and the back seats don't even fold down for when I have long things to put into the trunk.
Somehow, without all those things, it manages to get me to work and play, and has never needed a major repair.

Like you and AD80, I don't see anything that can actually replace Tracktion as it is. I think that's also the reason why Jules/Mackie are taking their time with T2...Lunch Money wrote:I just don't get it...
It's like everyone just wants it simply because they want something new. It's this whole culture we have here, ya know?
BTW, no need to take ttoz seriously, seriously.

Have fun with Cubase then! While the german programmers are wearing black socks with sandals and shorts and making their interfaces /GUI even more convoluted.
I like my audio apps to not have a " find the f#$#$ing window" feature.

I'm certainly not waiting for T2. It already does almost everything I want it to do, so I'd be perfectly happy using it for the forseeable future, no matter what feature-bloat the other sequencer makers add. Now, that doesn't mean that Tracktion is absolutely perfect as it is, but it's way closer than anything else.
The exact same idea applies to Reason 2.5. There are features I'd like to see added, but I wouldn't have been terribly disappointed if development completely stopped at 2.5. Then again, it looks like R3 is on track for at least an announcement at Winter NAMM 2005, just like I predicted since they didn't go to Musikmesse this year, so it's easier to say that now.

Who cares about those people not waiting for T2? Go ahead, don't wait, be my guest, by all means!
Use T or don't use it, what is the problem?
Those threats about leaving the Tracktion-camp won't make T2 get there faster. And if you think they do, you have a severe case of megalomania.

My tuppence worth...
T is great, it's simple, effective and solid as a rock.
When T2 does come out, I only hope it doesn't add the cup holders, go faster stripes, spoiler and fluffy dice that the other sequencers seem to have.
I'm more concerned with using my sequencer to continue making music than comparing its engine size and fuel consumption with other models!
I guess people get used to getting updates - must be the consumer culture we are all born into these days!

I got tired of waiting and switched too... from Acid Pro 4 to Tracktion
Now Acid 5 is out, but it doesn't look like they made the recording any better, and I like Tracktion better for recording and mixing. Acid still gets used occasionally for beatslicing type stuff, but right now T is my main host I expect it to be for quite some time.
