Officially, the CDs and licenses just shipped from Woodinville, WA, USA today. I was told there is at least one person who is still awaiting payment confirmation, so that one will obviously ship when that goes through.

Thanks,

Ben

if you don't have anything else it is perfectly decent. If you already have a couple of quality plugs it may not replace them. For a freebie though you can't complain.

Is it similar to bbe sonic mazimizer?

Final Mix is an excellent plugin whose only deficiency is that its preset management system has proven flaky.

People may not appreciate its full power because they never took time to use it and just quickly flipped through a few presets. It really has too many features to list, which makes it a shame that some people used it once or twice and then quickly panned on it. For example-- pre AND post EQ, with 6 fully configurable bands on each; 3-band compressor with everything you'd expect a compressor to do PLUS extra bells and whistles like muting individual bands; and the ability to store A/B settings to help fine tune your tweak.

Plus, I think some of the presets are awesome even though some of them aren't suited to my purposes... isn't that like ANY instrument or effect?

It's ridiculous value for money (ie. 'free', though new buyers could roll the price into the cost of the whole program I guess), but even if it were a paid plug-in it'd still be good.

NOW, all that said-- if you already have commercial plug-ins that do something similar (T-RackS or other mastering plugs), it'll be redundant and you will probably prefer the one you already own. For the rest of us, it's a plug-in that deserves more attention and use than its gotten.

Then again, that could be due to the frustration of dealing with the preset management buggles (which don't affect functionality, but DO affect workflow) that people don't use it so much.
