Every plugin company has or had a sale with the exception of one: iLok. Why is there no sale called TRANSFER SUMMER 90% OFF?
KVR and Knobcloud would explode. Finally get rid of Air Hybrid, Pulsar Smasher, Saturation Knob …

With the $50 voucher, it would cost $49.99.
In that case, doesn't make sense to pay $25 for a $75 voucher to spend more $25 on PA site.

Yeah, but the people to convince are those selling (e.g the chaps still selling $50 vouchers).twasq wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 9:54 amwaltercruz wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 4:35 pm About PA vouchers, with basically a free $50 voucher to all, I think that doesn't make sense to sell the $75 for more than 15 I guess... my reasoning: most of us want a $75 voucher to buy a $99.99 plugin for $24.99. While I don't think they should ask $20-25 for the $75 voucher and don't condone the practice, I could see someone paying $20-25 if they already used the $50 voucher since you can only use it once per account. This would come out to the same as having two $50 vouchers in the same month.chrisstiles wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 3:22 pmYeah, but the people to convince are those selling (e.g the chaps still selling $50 vouchers).twasq wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 9:54 amwaltercruz wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 4:35 pm About PA vouchers, with basically a free $50 voucher to all, I think that doesn't make sense to sell the $75 for more than 15 I guess... my reasoning: most of us want a $75 voucher to buy a $99.99 plugin for $24.99. Hello UncleE,
can you please activate the forum/group code for AudioThing Miniverb like you did for MiniBit? Otherwise I would need to get it from Plugin Boutique with the free Phoenixverb (that I'll probably never use).
By the way, if anyone has a spare Phoenixverb key…. that would make my decision easier.

In my opinion this is on PA somehow. The headline in the Voucher-Email should be like ‚first time ever! De-personalized voucher‘ or something!chrisstiles wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 3:22 pmYeah, but the people to convince are those selling (e.g the chaps still selling $50 vouchers).twasq wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 9:54 amwaltercruz wrote: Thu Jul 08, 2021 4:35 pm About PA vouchers, with basically a free $50 voucher to all, I think that doesn't make sense to sell the $75 for more than 15 I guess... my reasoning: most of us want a $75 voucher to buy a $99.99 plugin for $24.99. I think they are making their money. Smaller quantities, greater number. Totally ok with software where reproduction costs are close to zero.

Starting in May, PA made the personal voucher codes 4 characters longer. (Presumably, because some people figured out how to generate the codes.) Mine never worked, and PA support never resolved the issue.
There were also a number of complaints from those who were spending more and getting $50 vouchers that they were not as useful as the $25 vouchers.
Maybe this is a move to address those issues? We'll see if it continues..

I get the "small quantities and great numbers" shtick and obviously it has been going very well for PA, but there must be a line somewhere and I can't help but feel this would be crossing it, or at least fundamentally altering a very lucrative business model. Basically it makes away with the concept of loyalty vouchers and just further deflates the value of their plugins, even to those that haven't spent a bunch of money with them.telecharge wrote: Sun Jul 11, 2021 4:44 pm Starting in May, PA made the personal voucher codes 4 characters longer. I mean, I have purchased PA plugins in the past, because I "didn't want that voucher going to waste" and I know I'm not alone. I feel psychologically something would be lacking. At the end of the day, Dirk wants to sell subscriptions primarily and generally they run one of the most rewarding subscriptions out there imo, but why subscribe if the plugins are just given away?
On the other hand, the same arguments have been made before and PA have been making tons of cash selling their plugins for peanuts, so it must obviously be working. I'm guessing the transfer fee alone is worth it as a profit margin on any given plugin. So yeah, I'm probably wrong.
