I haven't given up hope, after all they still say its coming soon on the current website (for the last 2 years ;-))
I just keep my stuff on a NAS box as I run both Windows and macOS on three different computers. If I remember correctly, Bitwig was pretty okay with this. That's a sketchy memory and it's been a couple of years. Live and Studio One are fine with this. Logic is generally okay with it as well.
I've been planning to move to a 10GB network setup to make this more viable so I get speed access to my NAS. Right now it's just too slow for me for anything other than backup. I used to do this with Logic a long time ago when the Apple Time Capsule was a thing and it wasn't awful but not ideal imo.

I have a problem in Linux with u-he synths :(

There are systematic spikes that occur every few seconds (exact timing). I think it's a bug in Bitwig as I tested the synths in Reaper, and I have no problems at all! It happens even with the stable Bitwig 3 version!

I'll report it and see what will happen!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

I've run both 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps and there's effectively little difference other than load and save times which are still quite close. Most everything is cached locally. BTW, 10Gbps runs very hot and most of the time you don't need it. 2.5Gbps is much cheaper, runs a lot cooler, and is generally fast enough. The only reason I'd go 10Gbps would be to game or if I were editing video off of the server. I don't.

Run the plugins within the engine bitwig engine (No boxing)

Oh wow! Thank you so much Joseph  You really saved me from several hours searching and digging here there. :tu:

It works now wonderfully, but for some reason I can't connect with wifi (and Ubuntu doesn't recognise my ethernet card which is hooked to a mesh network), but the wifi was working, what happened?! Oh well, it is Linux and this is what you get when you have "new" hardware!

No release videos... The final release just kinda slipped out without any word

Well, I took a look as I always do. It said something about an old project (1.x) not being a proper project folder, created a new one, then promptly crashed after I selected the "manage files" when it said all the old audio was missing. This may have been because the project was on a NAS box across the network.

1. The zoom/scroll algorithm for the sliders is still too finicky for me. I still zoom when I want to scroll. I know ctrl limits it to zoom, but I work one-handed a lot. (guitar in hand). Bitwig remains the only DAW that gives me this problem so I can only assume the devs are far more precise with the mouse.

2. When playing, you still can't move back on the timeline more than one cue marker using a keyboard shortcut.

3. As far as I can see, there's still no way to insert stretch/beat markers en masse for a portion of, or an entire audio clip.

This is vague in my memory, as it's been a while since I tried the last 3.x version. It seems they've changed the insert stretch/beat marker to double-click, but have removed the modifier options. Double-click I like, but normally I'm just trying to correct the transient without disturbing the material around it and if I remember correctly, there was previously a way to enter three at a time. Am I missing something?

Didn't play with it much, but comping is a nice add and I personally like it done in the bottom pane rather than on the timeline. Allows you to retain your overview of the project more readily.

Now if only they would eliminate the delay introduced with EQ+

but how many people flock to their DAW's Page or even new people on a regular basis?
Best reach is to make a release vid on youtube. All they really made was a new soundpack video

Congrats Bitwig on the V4 release... loving the new comping!

Great! :tu:
I love the experience so far by using Bitwig (in Linux especially) about 90% of the times, from sound design to sequencing :)

Yes, but they're old, i.e. first published when v4 was announced 2 months ago (or whenever it was).
