U-he Diva (FL Studio 20) - Cutoff Automation not working?

I have recently moved from using Fl Studio 11 to 20 (lol), and also have bought the Diva VST, loving it.
But I have noticed an issue that I cant seem to find the answer to anywhere...
I try to automate the cutoff for my basses etc, but It just automates the frequency, not the cutoff and I'm confused because I never had this problem before
Hopefully someone can help, thanks

Diva's filter cutoff parameter is called "Frequency", as it controls the filter cutoff frequency.

My issue is that when tweaking the “cutoff” knob in the VST, everything works as normal and you can hear the cutoff frequency changing, but when I go to try automate the cutoff in FL 20, nothing happens. I have used diva before in FL 11 and never had this problem, so I’m confused.

Considering that FL20 is 3 years old and Diva many more and both have wide user bases, if I were you, as a user, I would suspect of error on my side.
The other possibility, that no one noticed that Diva's cutoff is not automatable, seems too big of a bug to for no one to notice before.

Hmm, I've tried t over here, and it works just fine.4RN wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 5:59 am but when I go to try automate the cutoff in FL 20, nothing happens. I have used diva before in FL 11 and never had this problem, so I’m confused.
Sorry, that info doesn't help you much, but it doesn't seem to be a general issue.

Ahaha yeah I am sure it’s an error on my side since I’ve not found any answers to this issue, which is what I’m trying to figure out. Is there a certain button maybe I’m not pressing?rafa1981 wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 6:37 am Considering that FL20 is 3 years old and Diva many more and both have wide user bases, if I were you, as a user, I would suspect of error on my side.

I usually automate 3rd party parameters by: tweaking the knob, going to “tools”, “last tweaked”, “create automation clip” and that’s it. When I try to do this for the cutoff on diva the automation clip appears but there is no changes made to the cutoff

Could you just run through what you did, as I said I’m new to FL20 coming from 11, maybe there’s an obvious button or something I’m missing ?tasmaniandevil wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 7:23 amHmm, I've tried t over here, and it works just fine.4RN wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 5:59 am but when I go to try automate the cutoff in FL 20, nothing happens. I'm not very experienced in FL Studio, but all I did was this:
* clicked on the record button
* in the dialog that comes up asking what I want to record, I select "notes and automation"
* I clicked play so it starts recording
* I play some notes and turn Diva's cutoff frequency knob
* I stop playback and open the recorded clip
* I select the cutoff frequency parameter in the Controller section of the clip
* and there it shows the recorded automation
* clicked on the record button
* in the dialog that comes up asking what I want to record, I select "notes and automation"
* I clicked play so it starts recording
* I play some notes and turn Diva's cutoff frequency knob

Ah you record it through the record button I usually do it with the automation clips using my mouse etc. I have not tried to manually record myself tweaking the cutoff knob, but I will give it a go thank youtasmaniandevil wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 8:07 am I'm not very experienced in FL Studio, but all I did was this:

The point I was trying to make is that as this seemed not to be a Diva problem, maybe you'd get better help on a Fruity Loops related forum/board or on the FL20 manual. Unfortunately I'm a Reaper user, so I'm unable to help.4RN wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 7:35 amAhaha yeah I am sure it’s an error on my side since I’ve not found any answers to this issue, which is what I’m trying to figure out. It's almost sure that you can automate envelopes just by drawing without recording on FL20 or any DAW.

Yeah it’s a bit strange honestly I don’t really know why it’s not worked, I bought the plug-in and been loving it so far but I noticed when trying to automate cutoff it just didn’t do anything?rafa1981 wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 9:48 amThe point I was trying to make is that as this seemed not to be a Diva problem, maybe you'd get better help on a Fruity Loops related forum/board or on the FL20 manual. Weird
I’ll have to try look for an answer on a FL forum

The method you described works as well, over here.4RN wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 7:35 am I usually automate 3rd party parameters by: tweaking the knob, going to “tools”, “last tweaked”, “create automation clip” and that’s it. It creates an automation clip, and you then edit the automation directly in the track view. Maybe it's really a good idea to ask in an FL Studio forum about how automation works if you can't get it to work with either one of those two methods.

Yes this is exactly how I’ve been doing it for years. And your image is exactly what comes up for me as well. What I was experiencing is that the cutoff filter was not responding to any of the automation inputs, could go from 100% to 0% and no change in sound. I see under the automation clip tab there is a “slide / step” option I can’t remember if I had those activated. As I said I’ve been an FL11 user for a long time only recently upgraded. I have been using automation for ages, hence why it’s so confusing as to why it’s playing up with diva now in FL20.tasmaniandevil wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 12:34 pmThe method you described works as well, over here.4RN wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 7:35 am I usually automate 3rd party parameters by: tweaking the knob, going to “tools”, “last tweaked”, “create automation clip” and that’s it. I will try again later once I’m home from work to see if I can get it working again

I have tested a few things out, and I’ve noticed that my problem is not with diva but something with FL Studio. Whenever I try to automate any parameter on any plugin, the knob always jumps back to 0% regardless of what automation input you have given…tasmaniandevil wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 12:34 pmThe method you described works as well, over here.4RN wrote: Wed Jul 14, 2021 7:35 am I usually automate 3rd party parameters by: tweaking the knob, going to “tools”, “last tweaked”, “create automation clip” and that’s it.
