hi all - im looking to figure out how to save *all* of my session data (edits, etc, everything) to a single self contained folder. It seems Tracktion keeps saving stuff to a "teseeract" file on my C: drive, when I want *everything* to be saved t oa single folder on my H: drive (my seperate HD is for important files and audio only and is backed up bi weekly).

You can export your archive to different destinations by clicking on the little box directly to the right of the destination line. It looks like this [...] It lets you choose which drive/folder you want your archive in.

Hope thats what you needed.

thanks 180. I have been doing that, but it hasn't been saving the edits there, or the .wav files. It's been saving them to a folder in the c: drive.

I would like to be able to save every single parameter and info about the session in one folder, edits, .wavs and all.

That's what it should do. When you create a new project, it ask you for a location where to save that project, just make a new folder, name it, name the project and everything should be there.
Unless you're talking about temporary data, well, you can set what folder is used on which drive for a temporary folder, doesn't have to be in it's default location.

Are you exporting the edit or the project? I think theres a difference. To export the whole project you have to go to the projects tab and highlight the project, then choose export. But I have no clue why it would save it to the c: drive .

Definitely! What he sayd. Thats what I do all the time. If you create a new folder for the edit, everything recorded will be in there.

But to get all the files that you've imported from other places, you still have to export the archive.

ahhhhh.... THX man. I was just saving the sessions in the edit mode. I didn't realize you needed to go to the projects window and choose export.

Right on. You should also get in the habbit of creating a new folder for each project too (if you dont already), it'll make things much easier for you in the long run. :)

Montana, are you starting these projects from scratch or are you simply saving a copy of the Teseract edit and working from there. If you are starting from scratch, then all audio recorded should end up in the folder housing the project and the edit. Rendered files should go there too. The only thing that won't is temp freeze files, etc. If this isn't happening, then most likely, you have changed the record path for one or more of your audio inputs. To fix this, open the edit and click on the arrow for one of your audio inputs. In the Filename feild on the right side of the preferences panel, should display the record path. To set this back to the default, click the reset filename button. You can change the record file name but be sure to leave the %projectdir%/

for some reason it won't display my whole post. Here is the rest:

... as the first thing in the filename, this will make sure it goes into your project directory.
I hope this helps.

Well, I've got about 10 months to go before I get a shiny new piece of paper for my wall so its probably only going to get worse.
