It would be nice to see IK work on M1 Native versions of existing stuff, but I guess that doesn't generate the income that slickly advertised new stuff that nobody needs does.

there are a lot of IK products out there and they are very complex, so obviously porting them to a new CPU architecture would take time, even assuming that they have a built-in advantage of already having most of their stuff ported to iOS.Bombadil wrote: Thu Jul 15, 2021 2:58 pm It would be nice to see IK work on M1 Native versions of existing stuff, but I guess that doesn't generate the income that slickly advertised new stuff that nobody needs does.
then again, it's always nice to see Apple users blaming everyone else for not supporting their idiosyncratic platform

Yup, assuming you are paid directly by dealer and they are not sale or return you win!Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Thu Jul 15, 2021 2:50 pm Also, judging by our need to make more units for the initial production since one dealer wanted almost the whole initial planned run, I think we'll do OK without a few KVRians liking them![]()
Personally I can't see how they sell at this price point compared to the competition, but that not my concern! Good Luck either way, I look forward to more Amplitube Updates, its KVR, we are here for the soft stuff mainly
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

actually, the Amplitube integration is something i would be curious about. i'm assuming that these things can act like a controller for Amplitube and all of their stuff is implemented in software. that's something i would find valuable as an avid live jammer. however, having 4 pedals is not ideal as it's too many wires, and too many duplicated functionality that i have no use for in the first place (e.g. why would i care that X-GEAR can act as audio interfaces if i already have an AXE I/O?).
i am still yet to find a way to integrate Amplitube into my jamming setup, as i can't find a way to have a way to have "presets" but also keep some of the effects intact between preset switches (e.g. so that i could swap out distortion but still keep delay FX enabled). maybe these pedals would allow something like that.

I'm going to be honest: I think the pedals in Amplitube are generally on the bad side. Like, does anyone think IK has the best in class TubeScreamer emulation? Or CE-1? Or Memory-Man? Of course not. Between Strymon, Eventide, Source Audio, Universal Audio, Line6, these just seem to have no place in the market IMO.

I'm not a Mac user, but at least this time Apple's delivering the performance and energy gains via the M1 chips to actually make it worth everyone's effort to update. Laptop chips that are fast, don't get hot, and won't throttle performance or blast the room in fan noise, all in a small enclosure? I hate to say it, but there's no Windows laptops on the market doing all of that and offering comparable performance. I may pick up my first Mac ever once the new 16" MPB get announced.Burillo wrote: Thu Jul 15, 2021 3:04 pm Then again, it's always nice to see Apple users blaming everyone else for not supporting their idiosyncratic platform![]()
All that said...I'm still not at all interested in these IK pedals. I think this is a swing (which I respect) but a miss. Unless they upped the modeling game for all the effects, which Amplitube 5 indicates isn't the case.

I have so many sims that I use, (AMPLITUBE 4 and Scuffham) well, not as many as some here, hehe, that everything that comes out now is irrelevant to me. Plus, a nice VOX stack, plus a BOSS GT-8, plus a BOSS GT-1. I have tone up my wazoooooo, baby! Remember the days we had AN amp? And now we aren't happy with dozens of emulations? Where do I say 'I have enough options, now go make music?' I recorded with a Peavey Rage, ffs.
Apple haters gotta hate!
Despite having 4 (soon 5) Macs, and 2 iPads, I have to state quite clearly I'm not an Apple fanboi. I don't have an iPhone…
Once these apps go Native, PCs will be even further behind.

There are hardware pedals, no computer required...I suspect the vast majority of guitarists (myself include) still use real amps...most have never heard of KVR and the world of 'virtual'Bombadil wrote: Thu Jul 15, 2021 4:19 pm Once these apps go Native, PCs will be even further behind.
In my world all types of computer should be avoided as far as possible, they are a 'last resort', after all why have 'virtual' when you can have real - Guitar into an amp, maybe an analogue pedal or two- job done.

I use software amps with software effects, because My 50W amp is too loud for my 9ft by 8ft room and the missus complains.SLiC wrote: Thu Jul 15, 2021 5:29 pmThere are hardware pedals, no computer required...I suspect the vast majority of guitarists (myself include) still use real amps...most have never heard of KVR and the world of 'virtual'Bombadil wrote: Thu Jul 15, 2021 4:19 pm Once these apps go Native, PCs will be even further behind.

Now when she is out the house, that is another matter.
I do use real pedals when I record to 4 track though (I go through some mooer preamps to simulate the amp or a POD).
So why not both? Works for me...

Ahhh. Ok. I wasn't sure. I try not to read advertising hyperbole too carefully. I get sucked in easily. Oh, this will definitely be a 'miss' for me.SLiC wrote: Thu Jul 15, 2021 5:29 pmThere are hardware pedals, no computer required...I suspect the vast majority of guitarists (myself include) still use real amps...most have never heard of KVR and the world of 'virtual'Bombadil wrote: Thu Jul 15, 2021 4:19 pm Once these apps go Native, PCs will be even further behind.

theyre more than that!
theyre a conceptual dream, a physical example of the "simulation theory".
if you have the pedals, you can use them in amplitude.
so, you have software emulations of hardware pedals in hardware, which you can then use as software????
mind blown!!!
which is the real thing, are we a layer in the simulation?
its turtles man! all the f**king way down!!!!!

What I want to know is how is this going to bring the older models of essential gear in AmpliTube up to current standards?
This is the thing that IK doesn’t seem to get. An ampsim with inaccurate models of basic gear like the RAT, TubeScreamer and CE-2 is worthless in The current year.
