Hello Vojtech, i would love to see copy and paste of plugins in the grid, mainly so I can copy setups from one grid to another, i.e from the main grid into a 'Modular' grid. What do you think?

But it is there! You just need to create an instance of that plugin, then in the editor's title there are copy/paste buttons ;)

Hello Vojtech, thanks for the reply.

Sorry, maybe I should have explained it more clearly. I do know about copy and paste in the plugin editor, I was hoping for copy and paste of the whole grid setup, all processors and routings in the grid at once so I can then paste it into a Modular processors own grid. I know it's possible to just recreate the setup in the Modular processor using the method you described above, but if it's quite a busy grid this can be a bit of a longwinded process, so it would be great if it could be done in one fell swoop. The reason I'm suggesting this feature is because I'm experimenting with the feedback processor and built my own little Delay with the feedback signal running through various processors. I wanted to duplicate the setup within multiple Modular processors so I could make a stereo delay and/or a multitap delay.

I know if I'd planned it properly first I could have just started building within a Modular processor and then saved a Modular preset, but I just started in the main grid without really knowing exactly where I was headed with my experiments, which is the way I often go about things. If you happen to come up with something good working this way, then decide you would like to duplicate the grid setup, so you can have one for the left and one for the right channel for example, then a quick way of of copying it to Modular processors would be ideal. You could then save a Modular preset for use with something else aswell.

I admit I have no idea how much work this would take you to implement such a feature, you're the expert in that department  but I feel it would be a very handy feature to have. :)

Hi there, well, this is also there already!! :) You see the copy/paste buttons in the title of the "Band 1" panel? ;) That copies the whole band and since the modular processor is in that band, it copies the whole structure ;).

Hi Vojtech, I know you can copy from one band to another but it's not possible to paste a band into a Modular processors grid. Say I have a few processors set up in the main grid, maybe using up multiple grid columns, I want to insert them all into a Modular processor so I can then delete everything and put a Modular processor, (now containing everything as previously set up in the main grid), in their place, doing the same job but only taking up one grid square instead of many. This is all within one band. Perhaps a command to 'Save current grid setup as Modular processor' would make sense. If such a command were not available then like I say you could achieve the same thing using copy and paste.

Setup a grid structure and copy it using the suggested grid copy paste feature.

Insert a Modular processor and paste into its grid.

Now delete everything but the Modular processor. Bingo, same structure but neatly tidied away using up only one grid square, leaving plenty more room to add to.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Thanks for your time Vojtech.

Uuuu, aaaha, so you want to copy the whole modular settings into the modular processor inside, hmmm, ok, I'll add it to to-do list, we'll see.

Yes, that's the one! Thanks very much :D

I also think a copy and paste function would be useful in other ways too, not just to copy into the Modular processor. Being able to copy multiple plugins and paste within the same grid would be very handy. For example copying a chain of plugins from one input to another for some crazy parallel processing. You could use Shift click to select multiple plugins to be copied, click a 'Copy' button at the top of the grid, then click on a empty slot and select 'Paste' from the Plugin Select window. This could be a real timesaver at times. Definitely good for the creative flow.

Cheers

is it possible to drag and drop (duplicate) fx inside the grid?

Post

intuitively I was trying to ctrl + drag to duplicate an fx to other grid.
