Which for some reason is the only DAW I don't use

Starting with low expectations seems to lead to a happier event (ask my wife!) but the simple fact is if someone at Reason hadn't made the decision to make it both a rack in other DAWS and Hi Dpi I wouldn't have tried it (and then bought it) so they got at least two things right for me!

Sure, you got to give them that - their business decisions aren't bad (for business). If I didn't have money locked in REs, I'd leave the environment months ago...

Maybe they had good reason (no pun intended) to be angry, but they did a good job of convincing people like me that Reason was neither a good DAW or a stable business...tough background to sell against and it took a no brainer deal to make me take the risk.

I guess that is why I was so presently surprised, I was expecting very little of the DAW as I have read nothing but complaints about it (and Reason in general) and it turned out to be pretty good in my opinion!

Maybe Reason Marketing team should just use the strap line 'we are not as bad as some of our own users say we are'!
But surely you use reason to make music not the unhappy users online?

I do and I am, I am apparently the one happy customer

antic604 wrote: Fri Jul 16, 2021 7:13 am What is? Many long term posters are gone, or bitter. Most of the mods sound like they read from the same script (granted, that was always true) + some new users in a honeymoon period over the R+ joined them; and YT videos are disaster. The 50% concerns people that moved to other DAWs - they chose Live; not that 50% of all Reason users moved to Live.
Sure, man. You do you. It’s easy to spout unsubstantiated statistics. ;) If you think I read from a script, I must have been handed a different copy. How’s that ban working out for you?

The +/- 50% was from a poll on RT: https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic. ... &t=7520873

I said "most". You're the exception.

It wasn't a ban - I asked for my account to be disabled, because I want nothing to do with RT anymore. So I'd say it's great

I don't think this poll has anything to do with people leaving Reason completely for other DAWS?

''Assuming that not everyone here work in Reason standalone exclusively, I was wondering which other DAW hosts your Reason Rack Plugin''

Live and/or Bitwig is a lot of peoples 'other' DAW!

Just purchased reason + subscription, but everytime I launch it it asked me for user name and password. I have ignition key plugged in, but reason 12+ ignores it, wtf!!!
Any solution to this issue please?

Post

It always asks me for user name and password but they are already in as I tick 'remember me' so I just hit 'log in'
I just assumed this was how it was?

You can register the machine, then you don't have to log in online to start Reason.

How can you do that?
It doesn’t give me this option 🙁
Btw; I can’t see Reason + on my ignition key… !

Ignition Key hasn't been a requirement for years. Actually they even said they'll stop supporting it altogether on macOS soon(ish). I've been using Reason since 2017 and I never had one. Just authorise your computer with that new Companion thing and/or from your user account on the website.

Thanks heaps, that worked :)

If for any reason it is not installed (I had to re-install once after demo Reason subscription) you can get it here: https://help.reasonstudios.com/hc/en-us ... r-Download

I think the subscription uses its own authoriser where as the perpetual licences uses above (but I may be wrong!)
