I'm a paid-up T1 owner too, and I'm not the least bit upset by Mackie's move. Quite the opposite, actually - I'm thrilled, and not because I need another license;

If this move results in Mackie picking up a significant number of new paying Tracktion customers (ie, people who get hooked on the free T1 and ultimately pay for T2), then we all win - the bigger the (paid) userbase, the more effort (read: money) Mackie will put into future development.

Or is that just too much common sense for a Monday morning?

I noticed something on the Guitar Player site. Notice the banner at the bottom.

It says $149 value. WHAT? I paid $80, as everyone else did. And if you think about it, it says 149, not 150. Typical market pricing strategy. Even Jules didn't do this. He said $80. So Mackie may be telling us something here. Hmmmmm, maybe the new cost of T2? It sounds about like many think it will cost. You don't get a typo like that in a banner. Just a thought.

Plus, after thinking about it, maybe T1 will become TracktionFree. I hear CM is looking for a new free sequencer since the demise of Muzy's.(Correct me if I'm wrong here.)

That's a really interesting idea.

Interesting idea – but its unfortunate the free CM version did not turn out too well for Muzy, the developer is missing and sworn to secrecy about his new project – therefore in the process destroyed all the work done to get Muzy where it is today – on a free cover disk as a free program with zero chance of a future. (I think it was in part the lack of paying customers upgrading to the full version - the lack of info by the developer about its future and the demise of the website etc.)

I had a paid version of that too, sort of adding to my fears ya see in this thread.
