Greetings, I am running the Native Instruments Guitar Rig as an AU within Patchworks hosted within Digital Performer. So far so good as it loads and I can automate Patchwork preset changes. What I have yet to figure out is how to automate parameters within Guitar Rig. I have enabled Learn in Patchworks, and attempted to link CC# to parameters within Guitar Rig, but it is not making the connection. Any suggestion on what I am missing?

Since buying Patchworks I have had a few questions and have sought out support from the company. Not once have they responded to my questions. It is frustrating. Can nobody assist?

I can easily control parameters with the Patchwork FX via MIDI CC commands. I am seeking to control parameters in a 3rd party plugin. Bridging the MIDI connection from Patchworks to the FX plugin and then using "Learn" to apply that command it to a specific control is the problem I am attempting to solve.

Also am seeking a way to keep the same plugin loaded in Patchworks, Guitar Rig in this case, and automate user presets without having to reload the entire plugin.

Any help is appreciated.

I figured out that a VST rather than an AU version of the plugin allows me to automate parameters via MIDI. Now the remaining issue of changing user presets is what I am trying to solve now.

You need to first map the plug-ins parameters to PatchWork controls, as shown in the following video:

If the plug-in does not support MIDI program change, you cannot force it to load its presets from PatchWork. You can however save several configurations of the plug-in (keep it always in the same slot) as PatchWork presets. You can then load these Patchwork presets via MIDI, and it should be smart enough not to reload the entire plug-in every time: it will just load the appropriate state of the plug-in as if it were a different preset of the plug-in.

I solved the problem, which was that the manual for the new plugin did not specify how to receive program changes, in fact it looked to be impossible. It is working now. Thank you for getting back to me. Still there is an issue I have with the standalone version of Patchwork. The available inputs are simply a stock channels 1-16, whereas my MIDI setup on my mac has numerous sources. Is there anyway for the standalone to have MIDI inputs that reflects how my Audio/MIDI Setup is configured?

There is currently no selector in the app: Axiom will use all connected MIDI devices by default - the only filter is with MIDI channels. It will change in the future, but it is currently the way it works.
