MIDI directed to specific plugin within a chain?

MIDI clips > VSTsynth > ShaperBox2 > Delay > Reverb

I have a track with MIDI clips triggering a VST synth that's going into ShaperBox2. ShaperBox2 feeds into a couple more effects plugins. ShaperBox2 can have it's waveforms/LFOs triggered by MIDI notes.
Right now I have two tracks, one with Chordjam and the VST synth with it's audio output routed to a second track with ShaperBox2 and the other effects. A MIDI clip on the second track controls ShaperBox2.

Is there a way with Racks to direct MIDI from one track to a plugin in the middle of a chain? Or do I need to split the chain up with the MIID controlled effect as the first plugin.

Yes, almost the same way you would have 2 or more VST synths in a rack if you wanted to fire them up all in parallel. Left side is inputs within the rack, and feed MIDI into the VST and Shaperbox directly. Audio chain will be VSTsynth > ShaperBox2 > Delay > Reverb. Watch for separate L/R in out on each if that makes a difference for you.
