That's brilliant! :tu: :hail:

Here's a Unison Saw on the bottom and Square on the top split at C:
MH KBD Split Tek 01.zip

Then turn Arp 1 on for Voice 1 and notice that at the second C on D3's on gui keyboard it stops playing the octave. Any idea what's going on there? :)

I can see this split technique being very useful! I've been asking for keyboard splits for a very long time and the response always seemed to be it's not possible because of D3's architecture.

Imagine being able to set the key range for each voice layer. As one example that would turn D3 into an 8 slot drum machine and so on.....

what about them?

It's something I've been thinking about for a while, partly because of you. Sorry that it took me a while to come up with

I already have an idea for doing a mapped drum machine. Give me a while!

I don't know how well google translate did in conveying his question but there are certainly more presets for the MSEGs than "simple sine etc"....

Hey I'm super impressed with what you've done so thanks for your efforts. It's not something I would have ever been able to come up with..... :tu:

I'm not sure if Rich is just being resistant to the idea of voice layer key ranges as found in other synths or if there really are limitations in the architecture that prevents them but your work does prove it's possible. :)

- Source=Voix x ON, Destination = Keyboard Note, AMT = Note Number
- Source=Voix x OFF, Destination = Keyboard Note, AMT = Note Number.

Say we wanted the split to be at note 32 and there are 128 notes, so we calculate 32/128, which is 0.25.

We know that the y parameter runs from 0-to-1 in steps of 1/n, where n is equal to the number of slots minus 1, so 16 slots would differ by 1/15 per slot. The first four of those slots would be less than 0.25, whilst the others would be above 0.25. If we subtract this range from the constant that we defined, i.e. 32/128, then the first four of these slots will be greater than zero, i.e., positive numbers, and the rest will be less than zero, i.e., negative numbers. The thing that we do next is to take the sign of these numbers so that we have +1 or -1. We use +1 and -1 to modulate the volume appropriately.

The patch works perfectly fine here, although I'm not using aftertouch here atm, my aftertouch keyboard is elsewhere.

I'll try to work out the aftertouch issue as well. It's probably a voice assignment issue.
