I think we're going to at least have automation via midi interface, maybe midi learn ?

i don tknow its going to be good... right? :(

RonC
I doubt midi learn – that would conflict too much with existing instruments - automation would be needed in the new update though – I recon a deal with cakewalk or someone for that - maybe the muzy guy - that would fit.

1. You will finally be able to use all 16 MIDI channels in the same project, instead of choosing just two.

2. Rack Filters- Tracktion's answer to the multiple in/out vst's, and a way to do sends and stuff. Trust me, this will be worth it!

3. A master volume slider. Now you will be able to go back and lower the ENTIRE mix AT THE SAME TIME! No, really!

4. Tracktion will drop support of DX plug-ins. They just were too faulty in version 1.

4. No more hardware interface- are you tired of looking at shining screws and "realistic" looking sliders? No more, my friend.

5. Audio file preview- you can now preview an audio file from a track without opening the track. Cool!

6. Free nose plug-(in)- Just in case your music stinks

7. Automation Write button- Ever wonder what the automation read button was for? Now you can make your own automation and have it read by Tracktion instead of paying $50 for a bundle of pre-built automation envelopes.

Other than that, I don't think anything is needed. I'm happy with what is there already.

Damnit, Koolkeys! :D

That was funny, but imagine all the people out there who don't get the irony of it... "WHAT? It doesn't even have a master volume slider??? Forget this!"

:hihi:

As for bundled plug-ins. I'm skint, so I own very few commercial plug-ins. Some of the Acuma plugs are sweee---eeee---t looking, though I don't imagine they'll give us the whole stack. I'll take some Saturated Fat and a Delay Factor, please. :D

Huge changes?
Well that's nice but I hope Tracktion will stay Tracktion with all it's simplicity.
I will make a few predictions with my crystal ball:

1 Arpegiator in piano roll
2 All kind of new 3rd party plugs
3 Mixer but not in a separate window, more like
a pull-down/resizable thing.
4 Retail price $299 or $399

Hey, don't give them any pricing ideas. We're thinking(and hoping  ) that the price will be around $150. You raise it much further and you lose some of what made Tracktion what it is.

Agreed.

I rarely use Tracktion for my own music now (Live 4 has taken over here at present) but I use it for teaching beginners. The fact that they can afford their own copy is one of the selling points so far as I am concerned. My guess is there are lots of people who have it for this reason.

But it's more complex than that - Tracktion is actually underpriced for what it already offers given the current market (should probably be around $140 at present, in line with FL Studio for example). There will probably be more people taking it seriously as a professional product if the price relects that more.

While I think you're right this time I'm a little worried about your apparently manic and compulsive need to start at least two threads about T2 each week... :?

But if it wasn't for his threads this forum would be a ghost town at present!

Bring back the days when newbies would be continually starting "Wow! Tracktion is awesome!" threads, that's what I say!

exactly. It's coming and I'm the king of the groundhogs.
