Hello once again. Might I ask, what version of the VST 3 SDK is Plugn'Script utilizing?

I mean for Plugn'Script version 3.31, the most recent official release.

Well, I just wasn't sure if I would need to update to the newer version SDK License, I'm licensed for an older version of the VST 3 SDK. I guess I should update it.

I am not sure, but I think the license works for any version of the VST3 SDK.

Hello again, I'm wondering how to do Open GL Graphics in Angelscript, if that's possible. I'm a total novice coder, I've only barely modified a Blue Cat's Plugn'Script Example Preset.

Also, are the Synth Examples in Plugn'Script emulations of Synths or samples? Can they and any oscillators and sound generator be freely used to create samples and sample packs, separate virtual instruments (Plugn'Script and non-Plugn'Script), etc.?

Sorry, I guess I should have said "Can they and any oscillators and sound generators, etc. (sound synthesizers, is that a correct term?) be freely used to create samples and sample packs, separate virtual instruments (Plugn'Script and non-Plugn'Script), etc.?
What's off limits?

No, most examples are simple examples of synth with very simple waveforms. Like all other scripts, you can use them as a starting point to create your own, but not deliver them "as is" to customers.Plugins!!Plugins!! wrote: Wed Aug 04, 2021 10:19 pm Also, are the Synth Examples in Plugn'Script emulations of Synths or samples?

Okay. So, can I sample those Synths if I add effects to that audio that is sampled? Does that count as making them not "as is"?

Why would you want to sample them? They are just simple, illustrative examples. There’s nothing they can do that can’t be done with the dozens of free instruments available that are much more versatile.

Well, I just really want to know what I can do for sure, and I don't know some of the legal aspects of some of these other FREE synths you speak of. I figure it's a great place to start, and then I can just add effects to those samples to make them something spectacular. You know, SynthEdit has a great sounding Oscillator, actually 2 (not sample based, purely generative that is, there is also a sampled based Oscillator, and an "experimental" HD Oscillator, but I'm not sure about the usage on that one), and as far as I've understood, you can sample that Oscillator sound, but don't quote me on that, check for yourself.
Yeah, I just want to make the "bestest", "greatest", "stereoed", "evocative" sounds that I can, I haven't even really listened to the sound of that simple Plugn'Script Oscillator that you speak of, I can't be that low-fi, can it? I just need Oscillators that don't use samples, and aren't emulations of someone else's copyrighted Oscillator(s), that's all. I don't want legal trouble, I want samples, so I can start making some money already!

All of the synth examples in Plug'nScript just generate sine waves so I can't see them producing anything spectacular, there just isn't the harmonic content to manipulate. The draw bar organ does let you add up to 4 harmonics above the fundamental but that's still very limiting. I wouldn't think there'd be too many people willing to pay for that kind of sample content. Of course, it's not a market I'm familiar with so maybe I'm wrong.
As for the legality, I can't comment but, to be honest, sine wave oscillators are so generic no one would be able to tell where you sampled them from.
If you want to create/sell great synth sounds you might be better off making presets for one of the existing commercial synths. I gather there is a market for that sort of thing.

Thanks for that. Actually, I just released a Preset Pack for the Xpand!2 Virtual Instrument. It's called C-C-FREE Presets 1. Here's the link to the KVR page for it. Yeah, I'm hoping to get on the Marketplace here at KVR eventually.

Hey, Blue Cat Audio, is there any way you could answer this part of my question. Sorry for so many questions. "Can I sample those Synths and/or Oscillators if I add effects and/or quality improvements to that audio that is sampled? Does that count as making them not "as is"?
