the way I understand it, midi sync is a master message sent to all exterior midi capable hardware to make sure they all run on the same tempo for example. it can also be used to to stop everything, make everything go, etc.

I doubt it.AD80 wrote:So would you be able to sync Tracktion to an AkaiMPC? So the MPC transport would control Tracktion.
That would require tracktion being slave which I don;t imagine will be the case. You would be able to sync the Akai to match Tracktion's tempo using midi sync though.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

Looking at this great marketing-idea, there can be only one conclusion:
MACKIE wants to compete in the sequencer market.
We Tracktioneers know about the potential of T. And so obviously does MACKIE and they decided, to match with the big players in the market.
To be able to compete, full MIDI-functionality is necessary.
What else is a must have, at pro-level: full automation.
Screensets.
Folder tracks.
Surround.
I guess there is the high probability, that Mackie will offer different versions.
If T2 is going to compete with the big seqs, it's almost a necessary step.
The version for hobby-users will be priced similar to T1. T1 was heavily underpriced anyway, and therefore T2 will be priced more adequately (~140 $ ?).
The T2 pro-version will ofcourse be priced way higher (> 250 $), but still a good bit below the direct competitors.
Just my 2 ct.
Is see an excellent future for all us Tracktioneers - but especially for those producing at pro-level.
