If we are doing game consoles, the NDS had this homebrew that emulated the basics of FastTracker II: https://github.com/0xtob/nitrotracker
It doesn't run well in emulators and you'd need an R4 flashcart or similar, which Nintendo has basically banned. Basically just a novelty now, but it was really something back when it was first released.

I do agree M8 is pretty expensive , but it sure is a powerhouse compared to polyend

I don't think this was posted yet, sorry if it was! I was super excited to see where this went, but I don't think it went past beta phase. AudioGL. It was like a modular environment in 3d space. (including the timeline)
