Using the modulation wheel in Tracktion

How do I set the modulation wheel to control other parts of the synth? The synth I bought, PSOFT Void, doesn't seem to have any option to change this, it just controls the portamento or whatever and makes the sound shaky when I move the modulation wheel around (I don't know the correct terminology for this stuff). Anyway, I'd like to be able to change it to control other things (say, the Filter -> Cutoff setting) and record it live and have Tracktion record the automation curve. I thought I had figured out how to do this, but it only lets me control it by manually placing dots. There's gotta be a way to do this. Cubase had a way.

I would wrap the synth inside Chainer or eXT, and use the MIDI CC to VST feature in either one to do it. For eXT, just click on the "..." button for the synth, and select whatever parameter you want to control. Then click on the button next to the parameter and select Map to CC, and use MIDI learn to do the mapping. The procedure is similar for Chainer.
This is one of the features that has been requested a lot for T2, so it should be in the next release, but for now, this is the best workaround I know of.
