RePro1: S&H LFO to Cutoff. How?

I've previously asked this question in another thread and while Funkybot's Evil Twin was kind enough to help me, I didn't quite get the result I was after. I was then directed to this subforum, hence the duplicate post (as opposed to spamming it).

Essentially all I want to do it set up a S&H to Cutoff.

The conventional method would be to assign a S&H LFO as mod source and Cutoff as destination (ie, where in the attached screenshot it displays Velocity and None respectively).

In the absence of S&H as source I assume I select LFO but I'm stumped with the destination. Again I assume I select Cutoff but what to do with the S&H Trigger in the same Destination menu I've set that to the LFO rate but then the LFO is just a constant triangle as defined by the shape, ie there's no randomisation at all.

EDIT: I've since discovered the latest version which appears slightly different to the attached image but the functionality remains as described above, or so I believe.
Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Mon Aug 16, 2021 10:58 pm Try this:

1. Set LFO to Square shape (so there's a high and low with motion to act as a good trigger)
2. Set the LFO speed to where you want
3. See in your screen print where it says "Velocity?" Change that to LFO (I suspect this is where you went wrong)
4. Select the S&H Trigger and assign that to LFO in the right click menu
5. Select Filter Cutoff as the destination
6. Increase (or decrease) the depth control

Steps 3-6 pretty much shown here (using latest version, Original GUI):

I should clarify the screenshot I included was pre-routing. It would have made more sense for me to include one of what I actually did. That was a bit silly of me, sorry.

I have followed your directions and I'm much closer however I notice this generates a Turing style random as opposed to true S&H. Is this the best I can hope for?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

TL;DR: How do I set Repro1 up for S&H to Cutoff frequency?

The closest solution I have, as provided by Funkybot's Evil Twin, sounds like a Turing style random not true S&H.

I know this isn't the answer you're looking for, but is there a particular reason you don't want to use Repro-5 instead? It has a S&H mod source built in.

Well now I'm intrigued. I actually tried Repro5 after I couldnt get the desired result on 1, however had no success on that either. I have 5 open right now but the matrix appears identical to 1. What am I missing?

S&H was an add-on from us, the original had a noise-like source that could be dialled in via the mod wheel, we added a switch on the "Tweaks" page (bottom left corner under the Source Mix knob) so that you can now use S&H instead. Back on the main GUI, you can now turn the Source Mix knob to S&H, and in the Wheel Mod panel you pick filter as your target. Now the mod wheel, when turned up, will add S&H modulation to the filter cutoff.

In Repro-1, try this:

Use ModMatrix to route JAWS AR envelope to Filter. Put that envelope on loop and make it really fast.

Use LFO to S&H the ModMatrix slot.

Ah it was hiding in the pesky Tweaks page.

Thanks very much. Quite happy now

Thanks Urs. Interesting and complex sounds indeed but it's proving tricky to find the sweet spot between regular "Turing" random and all out madness.

I think I have the solution with RePro5 now but thanks anyway.
