Waveform 11 Audio Issues

Setup Information - Behringer X2222usb mixer, USB connected to Windows 10 laptop, audio settings in Waveform are ASIO/ASIO4All/USB for audio input and output external soundcard ---> headphones. Mic'd drums into the mixer. MP3 (split signal) playing out of the headphone jack on the laptop, which feeds one of the mixer channels. The other split is headphones so I can hear just the song playing/any audio out of the laptop. MP3s playing on YouTube music.

My issue is not that I cannot get it to work, it's that is isn't consistently working. When I first set everything up, I could hear the mp3 playing and was getting an input signal to record. Playback also played through the headphones. However, after one recording, I couldn't get YouTube Music to play anything and when I could, I wasn't getting an input signal. I messed with the settings and could get an input signal but then, mp3s weren't playing. I uninstalled Waveform and reinstalled it and it all worked as intended but after one recording, same issue.

I tried using the mixer the way it is supposed to be set up (i.e. single input/output from the mixer) and nothing. I also get a buzz in the headphones whether it's working or not but I suspect that is because the laptop is not plugged into the same power strip as everything else (same outlet).

I ordered a Tascam 16x08 because only having a stereo input for 11 channels is annoying and I feel like the answer is, move the mp3 playing to a different device. However, I don't think that will solve my inconsistent input/output issue. I surely don't want to uninstall, then reinstall the program every time I use it. Thoughts?

Default under windows seems to be to exclusively allocate the audio device. Asio comes along, and it follows the Windows rules, and allocates it. You CAN disable that (not sure if there may be some other implications to doing so ? )

This didn't work. I had to move the mp3 playing to a different device.
