I heard that Tony is going to release an EQ,so that will be an instant buy because everything he codes is great...

One of the cool things is that with most of the plugins, there are a few different options and the're all good....

One thing I like about SDRR is that it's so encompassing to me that I don't have to even think about other saturation plugs. I can quite happily ignore the multitude of freebies/nobrainers out there knowing my bases are covered in that area. A couple of others for more extreme distortions (Dent etc), chowtape for tape emulation and I'm done.

I don't find this to be true. I still use abbey roads saturator, ik tape, kelvin alongside SDDR. None of them overlap enough to be completely replaceable. I think I've used all of those at the same time on a snare once, lol.

yeah i often use other saturators aswell, but SDRR is def my favorite

Has anyone asked him about native Apple silicon support? Does it work with Rosetta?

Last time I tried it in Reaper, it opened a separate bridge process, similar to how 32-bit plugins used to work in Reaper.

I can understand people taking a while to warm to them, I love Tchad Blake-y stuff and 00s blog house type greasy, oversaturated sounds and SDRR doesn't smack you in the face with possibilities to that effect like some Soundtoys plugins do. I actually liked IVGI more than SDRR for a while, for some reason the async knob was incredibly helpful in dialling in just the right compression. Using the mix control in SDRR really helped me appreciate it even more - I know that sounds silly, everyone dials it in, but IMO that's where the sound really shines. I don't like the fully distorted sounds SDRR produces as much as how incredibly well it blends in. The DIGI stage is particularly helpful for adding odd or even harmonics, and learning how the EQ modes in Desk mode work was invaluable too. But I still somehow find myself in Tube mode most of the time, its warm feel is great.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that he said that SDRR's Desk mode was the closest he'd get anytime soon to an EQ, so I don't think a dedicated EQ would be coming anytime soon

Well, he also said he was working on an EQ which is now long overdue (was originally supposed to come out last March or so IIRC)

DC8C3 is one of my go-to mixing tools, great compressor and superb for side chain usage. I have all his stuff from collecting them over time - that one and VUMT Deluxe get a lot of regular use from me.
