There will be a MuLab 8 -> MuLab 9 App upgrade path and a MUX 8 Plugin -> MuLab 9 Plugin upgrade path.
When you have purchased MuLab 8 on/after Wed 21 Oct 2020 the upgrade to MuLab 9 App will be FREE :) When you have purchased MUX 8 Plugin on/after Wed 21 Oct 2020 the upgrade to MuLab 9 Plugin will be FREE :)

Thank you! Not sure of the exact date but I bought MUX this year so I should be good!

Any changes to the GUI planned for v9?

I checked last few pages and couldn't see any screenshots.

I was always curious about MuLab, but don't find the GUI appealing to my personal taste.

Can you expand on that?
Just curious and inputs are always interesting.

Which is why the old "looxSkins" were a great way to customise the app. Just needed an upgrade to Hi-Res pics that's all ;)
I quite like how Mu-Lab looks now. Some minor tweaks and it's be even better.

There indeed will be some subtle changes in the M9 looks and layout.
I'm looking forward to hear from you what you (dis)like about M9 and which GUI improvements you suggest.

Hello,

Regarding the looks of MuLab/MUX, I think that, for instance, the knobs on the MUX instruments look a tad old-fashioned. I've been thinking that maybe something like the looks of the recent graphics overhaul on TAL-Reverb4

https://tal-software.com/products/tal-reverb-4

or TAL-Noizemaker may fit MuTools because the knobs (among other things) look sharp but they wouldn't look radically different from what is already there. Its stil a simple look, not a glossy-whiz-bang look.

Just my 2 cents, btw I really enjoy the DAW overall.

Thanks

Can someone remake such knobs using the internal knob designer?

Post

Looking at the reverb ones, no. They are multi-coloured, something Mux knobs can't do unfortunately.

Post

I like the TAL look, too. GUI changes going into this direction would be a welcome addition to MUX/Mulab.

But is TAL good design? I think all the graphic changes among the row of knobs make it too busy. Mux can duplicate that design in one colour and I think it 'scans' faster.

There will be a MuLab 8 -> MuLab 9 App upgrade path and a MUX 8 Plugin -> MuLab 9 Plugin upgrade path.
What if you have both? Given that you've said they're being merged.
