I'm afraid it will involve buying the magazine but they do look like amazing updates so it's a small price to pay (yes, I would say that!)"

RE: Sales fatigue and yo-yo prices - here's what I do. I have a Wishlist folder in my plugin downloads folder, where I essentially dump random screencaptures of sales/in-cart prices of only plugins I'm interested in, recording the month of the sale in the filename. I then keep my eye out for future sales and basically track the price of those plugins over a bunch of months.
Sounds OCD? Only do it for plugins you are quite seriously interested in (but aren't willing to pay full price). It allows me to make a more informed decision when I do finally decide to buy the plugin, that I am getting the best deal.
Also, never think "It'll never be this price again" - 99% chance it will, infact there's a good/great chance it'll be even cheaper. Seen it so many times. Remember that minus development cost, a software's true value is completely subjective - and devs can afford to discount heavilly and still make a profit.
It's very eye opening to see how devs manipulate their sales prices up and down, and the marketing tactics they use to try to pull you in.
The worst culprits are no surprise: Plugin Alliance / Waves / iZotope / JST etc

One can make music with few things, but what's better than buying another 100gb pad Kontakt library, waiting for it to download (damn modern hi-speed connections, too fast!), and then go for every one of the 2500 patches until your eyes bleed?
I guess if I make a song with every pad patch of every library that I own, I will be the most prolific producer ever existed.
Oh, wait, maybe I should do that for real.

I like Arturia's stuff ... but this is just my personal opinion. They might make a good addition to Omnisphere and u-he, as the focus is on vintage emulations. You might want to try Analog Lab Lite (available very cheap, or bundled with hardware) to see if you like the sounds.hoxclab wrote: Fri Aug 20, 2021 9:59 pm V8 Collection for $250 yay or nay? I have all U-He synths and Omnisphere.
Another alternative may be to look at the group buy going on right now at IK Multimedia. You can get into the world of Syntronik for very little money.

Syntronik is sample based so it depends if you prefer using presets to tweaking and building your own sounds. If the latter then the Arturia's a much better option as it uses emulation and gives you way more control. tbh I'd go Arturia anyway as I just plain prefer the sound of the synths in the V Collection.

Deeply sampled oscillators, with analog-modeled filters, and DRIFT™ technology - Syntronik is more than a preset machine or simple sample library and can get you a more authentic sound due to those factors combined. Click the link above and try it for yourself if you want a comparison.

You mean the ones that have what I mentioned? So that's... us. Go ahead and try it, it is not what people assume.

Uncle E: Any chance of matching the Relab LX480 Complete sale price of $199 (and forum discount)?
