I don't really see the purpose of a "DAW inside a DAW". It would fragment the composition/production process. Why add functionality to a DAW that the DAW already has?
Also, it would only work properly with a 4/4 beat or other simple measures, but once you have measure changes, there's no plug-in format currently that offers sufficient information about the song structure to reliably map a secondary timeline.
What about a DAW ?

No, hell, no... I'm sure people don't need more software layers and new interfaces. We need less, actually
Modern DAWs have full functionality and if not, they work on that 24/7 and I don't believe U-he needs to put efforts that way. Each new project is a responsibility for people's attention and time.
