Weird... never run into this trouble with Synth1 😎

How do you get the preset packs for $20?

Says minimum 20 but goes in at 40 for me.
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

If I remember correctly, when opening older Studio One projects, the DAW automatically replaced all 1.1 instances with 1.5, but in Renoise I get an error message saying the plugin can't be found. Is the automatic replacement the correct behavior?
Version 1.5 isn't supposed to replace version 1.1. IIRC, you can install then side by side.

Usually there are occasional discount offers reaching %50

Plus, there is store credit bonus points whenever a purchase is made, those points can be then used to reduce prices even further.

Do you have both versions installed?

I think I have to go back and read this thread's posts about 1.5 release...

Nope. I stopped using version 1.1 since the 1.5 update, which cut the CPU use in half or 1/3. I remember a support topic on Reveal Sound's website though, explaining why v1.5 doesn't replace v1.1. There was a major code change which optimized the synth in terms of CPU usage, and they weren't sure about potential sound changes, IIRC.

I do, they are separate dlls. I keep the 1.1. for compatibility with old projects/DAW presets etc
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Your memory sux, mate! It was 1.1 that cut the CPU usage of 1.0.

Idk, I don't remember having any issues with that. I'm pretty sure I must have both in my current projects - I load the old one when I need to use my presets and "musicloops" I have saved inside Studio One.

Good to know though, I wasn't aware of that it was not recommended

Thanks bro!

Anyway, I just took a look, and, v1.5 has the same plugin ID as v1.1, so, I really don't know why it won't replace v1.1.

The one which did NOT replace the next version was version 1.0.x. For the reasons I stated.

Post

^My pleasure! :)

Makes sense to replace it automatically if it's the same plugin ID, and as I said Studio One did it, but Renoise didn't...

Post

You actually said that you remember that Studio One did it.

Probably something wrong with Renoise then.

Post

Most probably. I will install the older 1.1 version, save the preset and load it in the newer version. It's only an instance after all.

Post

In Ableton the situation is apparently even worse.
You will not be greeted by a friendly warning and will end up with loads of unnamed instances of Spire called unknown.
