Maybe if you actually checked out the thread about Kalleidoscope, you would see that there is cause for concern--but keep on making stuff up if you need to fit it into your narrative. Drama? You brought it.
Kaleidoscope works great for me, I had a conversation with the devs about it not long ago

What the f**k?!?

Internet these days... sometimes I wonder whether it actually changes people or if it merely gives people a voice you'd normally not cross path with in real life.
The manual of Kaleidoscope is still version 1.0 after all these years. Never updated. This is just one example of many other issues. They just don't care.
Maybe they feel the cost to develop Kaleidoscope further is not good for business. These are profit driven organizations. I have Kaleidoscope but can understand why it was never moved forward because I can believe it has a small market. We don't know what the reasons are. Kaleidoscope works however and is cool. So still worth it for those jazzed enough.

IMO opinion it's kind of irresponsible to pretend that this developer currently offers a safe investment with his plugins. For those who already have them, well okay, enjoy. But to throw fresh money into them: questionable. I wouldn't do it (anymore)...

I would. They aren't unlike many stable plugin companies that have products that work and don't update them very often, nor do we hear from them very often. I think where 2C screwed up was being so active in the forum and then disappearing. Most of the kids here can't manage that kind of thing psychologically.

No where they have screwed up is by not communicating with people who paid a lot of money for plugins they expect to work as intended. Some of the bugs with Kaleidoscope particularly are not trivial ones and these are not cheap plugins, they are sold as premium products and one would expect a premium service. At least some communication about what is happening would be the decent thing to do. And I suspect most of the 'kids' here who find this unacceptable are as old, if not older, then you.

I was not referring to chronological age. Sure, do what you feel is best for you. But remember, it's only *your* opinion and approach. For other, like me, its completely different. Sorry 2C didn't work out for you. Software is a tricky thing.

No it's a fact that Kaleidoscope has bugs going back several years including one that affects saving presets on Mac and a fact that 2C seem to have gone quiet since their last major release (which was in 2019). No approach is going to change those things.

As a matter of fact on the whole 2C does still work for me - I bought everything they make, which is a sign of how much I like and use their products on the whole - but it is also somewhat frustrating to have invested so much in their products to find them not being updated for so long, to the point where one no longer works properly, and their silence does make me concerned whether something is wrong at 2C. I see I am not the only one and while I would not use the term 'abandonware' yet I think it is perfectly reasonable to question whether it is worth people investing any more in them until we know more about what is happening. Most companies by now would be seeking to reassure customers - these concerns have been raised for at least the last year and we have seen at least 2 sales in that time but no developments or communication.
