I wonder how long that has been possible. I wasn't really serious about this stuff when i was still actively using FL Studio so perhaps i just missed the option and it got filtered out of my mind the way things we see often tend to. I think my music from that time was more versatile though, but the audio from a technical standpoint was a loud muddy mess... It was Reason that made me really sit down and try to figure things out, the GUI just makes you care in a manner that i've not seen/felt in another DAW.

Man, maybe i should give FL Studio a chance again... Or grab that Bitwig crossgrade... Or upgrade that Live license i'm getting with my new audio interface...

^^^ I would wait for the next FLS 21 beta (or the one which gonna contain the theming), prev. one contained only a couple of changes (FL Studio 20.9 Beta 4 (16 July 21)) I'm quite curious about its new look

If you have a large screen and can get the toolbar to be just one row, FL Studio looks super nice and uncluttered. Studio One comes second for me in terms of looking good. S1 should change its font to something more modern looking though, right now it doesn't look good especially in high-res. That's just my opinion though.

They will add themes in FLS 21 or even sooner but I don't think its UI going to change. The dark theme looks so nice.

Are you saying you bought Cubase sight unseen?

There are lots of ways to look at Cubase without buying it blindly. There’s a demo, videos, even screen grabs will show you just how cluttered it is. You didn’t have to buy it to see what’s in it.

^^^ AFAIK they would like to integrate both NewTone and Edison into the playlist editor and the track assignments also gonna be updated (or enhanced) so I can imagine that it would be some kind of ProTools like UI at the end, who knows ...

would be fun if FL would be the definitive pro-DAW at the end (for the non-musician musicians )

ps. the mixer also will be changed heavily

Why not, you called Logic uncluttered and it’s more cluttered than Bitwig.

I don't own a Cubase Pro version, but, I surely saw enough of it.

It's like this anyway: You own Cubase AI, Elements, or Artist, and Pro will look even more cluttered then.

Anyway, I like Cubase's GUI in general, I just think the application itself has a lot of clutter and left overs from its past. Which is fair enough for those who use it, but, you definitely notice that it's one of the older (oldest?) DAW's.

Why not, you called Logic unclattered and it’s more cluttered than Bitwig.

Guess it's in the eye of the beholder then. That looks WAY more cluttered to me than anything I've seen from Logic so far.

Maybe on random picture, I have been using both, Bitwig last few years and Logic much more before that.

In 1993, the German company Steinberg released Cubase Audio on Atari Falcon 030.

Logic stemmed from Creator, then Notator, made by C-Lab (the company's forerunner) for the Atari ST platform. In 1992,

the sequencer of Reason still looks very similar to them

btw. Notator was pattern-based (or was able to use patterns dunno, can be seen on the video) but wasn't able to play the patterns continuously (there was a minimal break between the patterns) the patterns have had to be consolidated before, I've heard it from some youtube video

Yeah, those are the first two that come to mind for me as well.

That said, the "lite" versions of most DAWs (e.g., GarageBand) look very clean and uncluttered, but that's to be expected with a limited feature set.

Which DAW Has The Most Uncluttered Interface ?
