....Classics Collections...hmmm

I wonder if the plug-ins will ever be upgraded..as the name suggests..No...but hey...
Maybe Absynth X or.... we will see more of an izotope approach and the komplete will end up chopped up into never-ending nr of collections at low price .....reverbs ...effects ...vintage...drum...sample..xyzxyz... ?...
Difficult to say after this unpredictable move. Such collections are targeted for new customers from what I can understand. Komplete owners have nothing to look for here. While NI continues to do their traditional sales and product releases between Komplete versions, they seem to be trying some new things. I just hope that they continue to release new Komplete versions every two years and have the 50% off sales twice a year.

I am hoping for Battery 5 in the next Komplete. If not that, it has to be Absynth 6/X with a modern GUI. I can't imagine anything else than these two (ignoring FM8 here).

It was, forgetting the keyboard, the oscillators were 'digital' too, a couple of CMOS chips and a lot less auxiliary circuitry I believe so that kept costs down. I've read they had a reputation for unreliability so maybe they were cheaply built too, in a bad way.

M1 OWNERS ONLY: Object Delay is M1 native. Yay!

BIG BUTT: NI Freak is not! Does not work with Logic Pro atm.

NI info:
These Komplete Effects are not yet compatible: Mod Pack (Choral, Flair, Phasis), Crush Pack (Bite, Dirt, Freak), Raum, Replika, Replika XT.

FYI - Googling for "bax shop legit" turns up a LOT of bad reviews, mostly of the "items never arrived and nobody answers the phone or emails to help" variety. It's also weird to me that their download licenses are being advertised as "order before 11:00pm = receive it on Wednesday". Kind of red flags. I'm not sure I'd spend money there I wasn't prepared to lose. I also wonder where they're getting these licenses...

Also, their prices are inflated - although it's possible that's due to VAT, I don't really know how that works. But it means the discount isn't as high as it seems. For instance, MModernCompressor is listed as MSRP £65.00, almost $90. On Melda's own site it's $59. So Bax's sale price of £14.00 (roughly $19.50) is really only about 2/3 off, not 78%. Still decent deals if you actually get the product...

I have bought from them before on a misprice and they did eventually honour it, but they were difficult to deal with.

I also compared the prices against the Meldaproduction website and they all do seem quite inflated. I wonder if this is an accidental early release of a Meldaproduction 60% off sale? Though I am not expecting one until Black Friday.

Careful when ordering download codes, this process is definitely not automated!
You will get the code on a packing slip that should arrive by email, except you may not get the packing slip if the download code is the only thing in your order.
Answers to emails take a couple of days.

I've had a pair of monitors and a guitar from them. I returned the guitar no questions asked, they paid for return postage. They have 120-day money-back guarantee. There's no doubt they're legit.

Yes, their RRP prices look like they're hiked up to make the discount percentage look bigger. Quite a few of the prices are below Melda's 50% off sale prices.

e.g
MDynamicEq from Bax £16.05
MDynamicEq from Melda £59
73% off not 81%

As mentioned, their support is lacking, It took me a week or so to get a email reply on several occasions. Maybe a backlog from Covid.

I've never been big on these kind of plugs before but have been demoing this and UA Silo recently (both on offer around the same price). Obviously quite a bit different but I find myself ending up at the same kind of space ultimately, any opinions on either? I love the GRM Evolution plug, instant (ie. lazy :)) dark ambient, not sure you can get that kind of spectral stuff from Silo though that seems better for controlled chaos... Thanks.

I bought Silo - wish I hadn't, it is just another granular, not as good as Dust or crusherX. If you dont have a granular then it is ok with some nice features but like all PA plugins dont pay more than a few dollars for it. Maybe I will find something special about it over the next year or two.
GRM tools get better the more you use them. Evolution is a good example - instant gratification and then over time you realise it can be very subtle and more nuanced than first appears
