I noticed that Strike was back on sale at Plugin Boutique, so I looked and saw there was a 2021 update for it.
I assumed it was just an update to the iLok software and almost passed on downloading it, but I downloaded it for grins anyway.
The new version is 2.5.0, and I was shocked to see they added at least one new feature that is kind of cool.
You now have controls that affect the preset patterns such as intensity, complexity, timbre, tuning, and groove, all accessible right from the main window.
Nice to see a new feature added, AIR probably should have mentioned it somewhere, I'm on the mailing list and didn't get anything mentioning it.
Just figured I'd let folks know.

I haven't used Strike for a long while, but I'm pretty sure those controls have been there for years.

Well, I don't know how old the version I had before was, but those controls definitely weren't there before I updated.Clac wrote: Sun Sep 05, 2021 2:32 pm HaHa. Are you joking like that?![]()
Those controllers have always been there.
You used to be able to control those things in one of the editor windows, but I never had those controls on the main window before.
Just to the right of where it says "Strike" in the lower left, I now have 6 controls that I didn't have before.

Version 2.0.7 was released about 5-10 years ago, and had those features directly from the main interface as far as I can remember.

Wow, so you have those yellow controls in the lower left on 2.0.7 ?starflakeprj wrote: Sun Sep 05, 2021 9:33 pm Version 2.0.7 was released about 5-10 years ago, and had those features directly from the main interface as far as I can remember.
I really wish now I noted what version I had before I updated, but alas I didn't check.
Sorry if I raised a false alarm, I was just shocked to see a feature added that was new to me.

Yes, it was actually me who invented those. No, sorry, this is what I remember, I haven't fired up Strike for ages, I rememver it being so vrappy, so I uninstalled it when I bought Superior Drummer 3.
I saw the screenshots above later, and it might be your're right. It would be very stra ge though, since it seems like AIR don't have any coders left working for them. They have promised larger interfaces for several years without being able to deliver, so I guess they didn't want to wake that bear again

I've 2.0.7.19000, installed long ago. If you click on the 'Strike' in the lower left corner it shows the version) 2.0.7.19000 does not show those features.
My PB account tells me I have an upgrade to 2.2.7.2, but trying to download it takes me to the Air downloads where it's not available - 2.0.7.19000 is provided.
So, perhaps, if you buy it now you get those features and a current version...(?)

It didn't show any updates in my PB account, since I got Strike as part of the "AIR expansion select bundle" or whatever it was called.NTO wrote: Mon Sep 06, 2021 4:56 pm I've 2.0.7.19000, installed long ago. I just happened to notice that PB was showing it for sale again, so figured it must have been updated.
I downloaded the newest version here : https://www.airmusictech.com/product/strike-2#updates
EDIT: This version shows as version 2.5.0.383f761, when you click on Strike in the lower left.
Another little thing though, when you let the credits run after checking the version number, the last thing that scrolls by is "© 2013".
