Urs I think RePro 5 might have Take 5 edition with more modulation slots, osc2 as mod source, sub osc and more independent polyphonic destinations?
Just thinking.
Just thinking.

I really wish Repro-5 could have more modulation slots. It's probably the synth I use the most but not having 4 modulation slots sometimes kills me.
However what I'd personally love is sort of a Repro-5 offshoot that doesn't aim to be too faithful of Prophets. Give us that sine. A BP in filter section. Actually 2 filters if one is allowed to dream. More LFO's (although this wouldn't be too unfaithful) and perhaps bit more elaborate S&H-features akin to the random/noisy functions in Pigments.
My alternative to Repro is mostly Pigments and I use it reluctantly whenever I have to. If I could have the main body of Repro alongside with the few additions, that would be a whole paradise.
Both oscs acting as mod sources and a sub osc would be swell though. Poly destinations seems kind of a gimmick if there's nothing that interesting done with it and I'm afraid it might be bit too taxing for most people in terms of CPU-use, but I have honestly no idea. I know that Massive X and PhasePlant do it well, though.

I'd be happy with just an A and B view of the two mod slots for two extras, which wouldn't require a change to the GUI at all, just a toggle button.

What if the answer was yes, but you'd have to give up 3 voices to do it?
In all seriousness (the above was not), I'm sure U-he are aware of the requests for more mod slots, polyphonic glide, and others (mine are 2 more voices, then 2-voice polyphonic unison, and envelope/filter/osc slop added to the Tweaks page to be controlled by the Detune parameter on the front page). But there's a lot on their plates right now. RePro is pretty great as is, but amongst others: Uhbik's need to get polished off, there's another Eurorack product coming out, then AAX versions once AVID and Pace get their crap together (boo), and Zebra3 of course. It's probably very odd to squeeze a RePro-5 update into all of that.

Jokes on you; I would never actually use more than 5 voices to begin with since I don't like the unison stuff and only place I'd use unison in would be bass. 3 voices can go!What if the answer was yes, but you'd have to give up 3 voices to do it?
But yeah I wouldn't expect Repro to be developed in near future and certainly looking forward for Zebra 3 before anything related to Repro. However I think only real way to signal developers stuff like this is to simply be at least a little vocal about it. This is the only thread in the front page currently that has to do with feature suggestions about Repro5 :p
There's a nice feature request thread for Hive in second page and none of the latest responses as I can see are bringing up that u-he is quite busy. Nor nobody here is taking the tone of "it's been so many years already, why can't you just do it!"

I think it's too soon, we are talking about Focusrite here, and a brand spanking new product, not just Dave Smith anymore. I think it's foolhardy to assume they would take no issue with a "Take 5" edition. Remember, legality doesn't really really matter here, it's all about legal costs. We probably shouldn't suggest putting uhe in a bad spot by even mentioning the Take 5 just because we dont want to buy the hardware.
*At least not in the context of replicating it.

it kinda sounds like what you really want is a diva 2 (just an updated VA with urs' new mod matrix setup and more filter/osc options) rather than an update to an emulation of the sequential prophet 5

Updated Diva 2 with Prophet filter & oscs + all the other stuff would totally be the vibe.
It's also unlikely to happen. I mean, maybe? But consolidating two products into one like that just doesn't seem like a smart business move no matter how you look at it, versus developing Prophet and Diva further as separate products. But having Juno saw with that poly filter in prophet? Dear lord, yes.

No I'm not talking about Diva 2 at all. RePro already has all components to extend: modulation matrix, lfo2 and polyphonic bus we just need more of them. Diva 2 is completely different product.Functional wrote: Thu Sep 09, 2021 2:49 am Updated Diva 2 with Prophet filter & oscs + all the other stuff would totally be the vibe.

Don't get me wrong I've sold Prophet 6 because it sounds worse than RePro 5. And new Prophet 5 still sounds worse. But obviously people want certain features to create modern sounds.

I've got a new Prophet-10 Rev. 4 and thinks it sounds quite great. There are elements to it that I don't find in RePro-5 and that's namely around the behavior of the vintage knob. It really loosens up the envelopes, filters, and tuning in a way that's more pleasing than just the Voice Detune parameter in RePro-5. I'd love to see RePro-5 get an update to let users adjust the envelope slop depth, tuning slop depth, and filter slop depth, independently and controlled by the Voice Detune parameter. I think that would make allow for more apples to apples-like judgements to be made between RePro-5 and the hardware Rev. 4. The 1/2 filter of the Rev. 4, while maybe not being exact, also has a nice sound to it as well. Not to mention the poly unison, voice stacking, and splits (the latter of which can be done in the DAW granted).david.beholder wrote: Thu Sep 09, 2021 4:19 am Don't get me wrong I've sold Prophet 6 because it sounds worse than RePro 5. Chop it up and stick it into diva2

I don't doubt that Rev4 is incredible instrument, but so is RePro. I terms of warmness and tone I say rev 3 > RePro 5 > rev 4 > prophet 6 and they all sound great but P6 has a lot of harshness.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Sep 09, 2021 1:59 pm I've got a new Prophet-10 Rev. 4 and thinks it sounds quite great. I like idea of vintage knob and separate slop controls in matrix but it appears it's harder to convince Urs than Dave Smith on this subject.

Has Urs ever said no? I just assumed he's been ignoring most RePro requests due to the size of the existing to-do list.david.beholder wrote: Thu Sep 09, 2021 10:50 pm I don't doubt that Rev4 is incredible instrument, but so is RePro. That, and I'm pretty sure we already agreed to an essence of these requests one way or another.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Sep 10, 2021 1:28 amhe's been ignoring most RePro requests due to the size of the existing to-do list.
