We aren't talking about doing this every day for weeks or months or years on end. The odds of any hearing damage from using ear buds on a single vacation are slim. Still, a fair point. The best advice is don't do any of this and either tolerate his music or (God forbid in this day and age!) lay down the law and let him know he can't have everything he wants.Hink wrote: Thu Sep 09, 2021 5:03 pm ummm...no...I am not a dr, this is not a medical site but common sense sure suggests that it is far better to err on the side of caution. Kids are growing, common sense...if a lot of stuff is growing on the outside (and it's slightly obvious) things are probably happening on the inside. We also know the severity of hearing damage, the complexity of it and how quick the onset can be...ummm...no.
But now you want to put ear buds in their ears...you do know they'll try to push them out the tother side right? They're toddlers. You dont let toddlers put things in their bodies, this is parenting 101, not up their nose, not in their ears, we always keep and an eye on what they put in their mouth, we even baby proof house to keep them from finding tempting items to put in holes and crevices on the body. You want to put earbuds in their ears?
Just a guess, you dont have kids huh?![]()

im sorry, maybe its me...even if it made the hearing better...putting earbuds back in every 20 seconds or constant crying because they hurt, they dont sound right and then crying because they want them back all day is not my idea of a vacation
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

I would not recommend a headphone for a three year old. Crazy.

Thanks for your feedback everybody. Rest assured that my son's health is my top priority. The headphones are only meant for two car rides, one or two hours tops. I won't allow him to wear them arbitrarily.

Just a heads up - we're back from our vacation and there hasn't been a reason to use the headphones at all. Thanks for your concerns regarding the health implications, I won't give the phones to him any time soon.
