You can produce pro music without ANY paid snyths/effects and sure don't need 10-15 of them either. There is free stuff out there that good now. (I don't know what you mean by "dope free" though)VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: ↑Fri Sep 10, 2021 10:50 am Today you can produce pro music with two-three commercial and 10-15 free vst synth plus tones of dope free fx.

if you are after some sound you have to buy right synth to make it,many things could be done with free vst,but not all

Or less even, but maybe more, depending on what you're doing.
We'll agree to disagree there. You can do anything with free synths that you can do with paid ones, or extremely close to it. I'm not saying it's never worth it to buy one though. Again it all depends...and it's fun to try out new things.if you are after some sound you have to buy right synth to make it,many things could be done with free vst,but not all

Agree to disagree too
Tried like 2-3 years to work with free stuff only, but most just miss some important things like vibe, character, harmonic content so on,aside from technical limitations.
Tone2 Firebird was first really good free synth, when they release it as freeware back in 2013.
Vital open entire new page of free synths, but again 10 years ago how many free vst synths could produce sound comparable to Sylenth1 for home producers making commercial music - only decent one i can remember was Synth1,which i didn't like(or maybe just don't understand how powerful is) back then cause my designer's skills was zero and most available presets wasn't pro to my taste
So my point is that every year getting more easy to produce quality sound with free vst.
I was one of the defenders of free 32bit vst synth usage, participate in many disputes about usability of free synths, then grow up,spend some money to fill my collection of 'Right' synths i need and most stuff labeled as 32bit and free now seems limited in many directions .
Cheers

In a world where the TB303 started out life being considered a cheap toy, what constitutes a pro sounding preset?
