Hi,
I have just tried out the latest beta 11.5.18, unfortunately for me at least, it is crashing to desktop, with waves plugins and also isotope plugins.
It will not open GUI of waves plugin, ( ssl channel strip) waveform becomes sluggish then crashes to desktop. I tried with and without sandboxing made no difference.
I have reverted Back to 11.5.17 and everything works fine.
Cheers
Terry

iZotope plugins seem to work fine here. Win 10, WF11.5.18. I usually use vst2 versions but just tried a couple of vst3 versions and they don't crash either. Don't have Waves plugins to test. I see the release notes mentioned an iZotope GUI dragging issue being fixed but I never had that with previous version anyhow. I wonder if your issue is graphics related, have you tried different rendering option in settings?

No didn't try, I couldn't actually get it to stay on screen long enough.operandx wrote: Mon Jul 26, 2021 3:06 pm I wonder if your issue is graphics related, have you tried different rendering option in settings?
As I mentioned, no problems with 11.5.17.
Generally I've been very lucky with the Waveform versions, no real show stoppers

Hmm... I haven't tried Waves in decades but I do have one remaining iZotope plugin, Trash2. It seems to work okay in the new beta.
(never mind what I had written before, as changing some presets in ValhallaDelay VST3 also crashed 11.5.17.)

Surely there must be consensus by now...

Just about to post that I don't seen these issues, then I saw your edit about vst3. Been using vst2 version all day and no problems in changing presets except one time the plugin stopped working, in that it still passed audio just wasnt effecting the signal. Maybe I'll check the vst3 although I don't usually use vst3 versions unless I can help it. The recent updates to Arturia FX crash WF in their vst3 versions.pough wrote: Thu Jul 29, 2021 5:46 pm Hmm... I haven't tried Waves in decades but I do have one remaining iZotope plugin, Trash2. However, I just changed a preset in ValhallaDelay and now I've been enjoying a spinning torus for several minutes. Had to manually shut Waveform down.
UPDATE: ...seems consistent behaviour. Even when the edit isn't playing. This is the latest (2.1.0) version of ValhallaDelay. Bummer.
UPDATE: Turned off experimental engine. Still crashes. Downgraded ValhallaDelay to 2.0.8. Still crashes.
UPDATE: Looks like it's only the VST3 version that's a problem. ... And not all presets crash the VST3 version. Sigh... Tracking down the actual issue can be a pain.
Edit: Well it took approx 2 seconds to crash WF 11 with the vst3 version of ValhallaDelay 2.1.0 so there you go.
Edit2: The vst3 version fails WF plugin validation. Vst2 passes.

It's the dreaded "restoring default layout" test. That test seems to crash so many plugins. And it seems to happen primarily (or exclusively?) to plugins made with JUCE.operandx wrote: Thu Jul 29, 2021 7:48 pm Edit2: The vst3 version fails WF plugin validation. Vst2 passes.

Win 10 - Robust Hardware
I definitely notice that it is not running as well. I loaded a file that had one 30 second audio track and one plugin (Venom). It took far too long to load.
Then, I opened one of the EDM demo songs and it froze.
FYI. Wait on the update, is the way to go.

I've been working all morning with waveform 11.5.17 without issue.
I ignored the download manager on initial launch of WF giving the release update to 11.5.18.
Downloaded and installed 11.5.18 about 15 minutes ago.
Waveform will launch , but when I click on
the project I was working,WF will now not open.It either crashes engine or circling blue wheel.
All the tracks are midi.
Vsts are:
Waves: SSl Channel Strip Stereo & mono / SSl Buss compressor
EZ drummer 2 /
Air: Xpand2 / DB-33 / MiniGrand
VstSynthFont64
Kontakt 6
Something broken.
Re installed 11.5.17 project opened without any problems.

GUI problems with Tracktion Essentials plugins - with dpi awareness the GUI become smaller and smaller every time you open it.
Also Problems with Magnetite (Black Rooster audio) both with and without dpi awareness.
No problems in 11.5.17

I have crashes too with 11.5.18 (auto sending reports). Does project autosave recover from crash with minimum edit loss?
