Reduce modulation CPU usage?

I'm always looking for ways that can lift the burden my plug-ins put on my DAW system.

I learned a lot from the Meldaproduction documentation regarding oversampling, so I cracked the MTurboEQ manual (which shows a great deal of improvement over Meldaproduction manuals I've read in the past for other plug-ins) and read the Performance Precaution section.

It says "Usually the most CPU demanding features are oversampling and modulation of certain parameters. You can reduce modulation CPU usage at the cost of lower audio quality in Settings/Settings/Modulator protection."

I clicked on Settings to investigate further and there is no submenu for Settings within (shall I report this to the Department of Redundancy Department as a standards violation?). There's a subsection for Advanced Settings, but alas, no "Modulator protection." I've never heard of "modulator protection" before. What is this modulator protection that we should be so mindful of it?

The only thing I can think of that it might relate to is "sample accurate event reporting," which if I understand the Meldaproduction documentation, has to do with how fast and smoothly the plug-in will listen for and respond to control messages from the host.

In any case, what I read in the documentation doesn't match what I see in the plug-in, so I'm alerting the good folk at Meldaproduction.

I think this is what it's referring to. I do notice a CPU reduction when setting it "Normal".
In some cases I don't notice a change of smoothness in Normal compared to high, but other times High is needed to keep the modulation smooth.
