I hate to say it but what the hell was the thought process to making the plugins genuinely look worse? I like Melda because of the uniformity of the interfaces, I never have to look at some cheesy gui like the new V15 has. I really hope all plugins allow you to revert to the old customizable appearance

You could read this thread a bit more carefully, here on the bottom of the post:

MGuitarArchitect doesn't seem to have the option to disable the GUI for most modules. I doubt I'm going to use it, but still.

Personally, I'd prefer them working on other stuff and putting function over form again. Improving documentation and consistency between plugins would be time much better spent in my opinion.

But marketing wise, that's a smart move and will probably bring in a lot of customers.

Though in general I'm more appreciative of function over form and I like the consistency of the utilitarian normal Melda GUI, I noticed in MTurboDelay when using the custom GUIs how helpful they can be in this case. I haven't worked with MTD much, and the parameters appeared to me to be organized in a way that allowed me to understand the structure much faster. Also it is quite helpful that the parameter elements can be sized and grouped in a way that is much more space efficient than the standard GUI.

Melda is smart to give this capability. The engineering centric interfaces are a great fit for the technically minded and the consistency rewards once you learn a few plugins across a variety of categories. That being said sometimes you are just in a creative mode and you don't want that part of brain working that hard. If you don't like the features you can simply not use them. It looks like a win win to me. The only issue is that development time will probably take a bit longer given the overhead but Melda is the most efficient developer I've ever seen so likely they have that all well in hand.

Has MeldaProduction now gone challenge/response? Is online activation mandatory? (Regarding the GUIs: everyone to his/her own taste but for me this is not at all an improvement, so good to know that this nonsense can be disabled).

Nope, you can use your offline .mlf license just as before

First off, congrats to Melda for a major release!   :tu:

FWIW, I started a thread about the new UIs.

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=571359&start=75

Here, on page 6, I detail how to make a consistent colour scheme. (It's easy, but still it might be helpful to some.) I also added two examples, one of which I'm using now.

Signing off now, 'cause I'm incredibly busy... :phones:

MTurboDelay seems to got rid of the "Edit" capability. Is this true or I'm doing something wrong?

Post

It never had an edit mode
