The ethics & morality police and social justice warriors are in full swing in this thread. We get it you hate PA, but why do you try to get it into people's heads not to support developers. Dmitry's never made a bad plugin.

Apparently CPU usage has gone significantly for some people compared to v1. Up to 12% per instance. So there must be a major difference in the quality of the processing.

I don't think increased CPU usage is necessarily a marker of better processing - could be worse coding. In any event I'm not hearing it, and trust me, I wanted this to be a major update.

Yeah I mean i despise PA but i bought thorn anyway.

Is there a path to upgrade from V1 to V2 without any PA bundles ?

EDIT : Just saw its for actual sale on Oct 5th, so I guess V1 users will find out if there is an update path or not.

Id say there isn't as the first wasn't released through PA, but judging by comments made and the fact the GUI is a joke, I can't see me even wanting to.

I saw a PA-advert for Tantra 2 on FB and they said that that, because Tantra 1 is not available through their store, it's not possible to offer any upgrade-deals or crossgrades for v1 owners. There will be a reduced price for Thorn owners. I mean, it's always the same MO with PA.

So might Dimitry be implying that there is a way to get Tantra 2 without going through the PA store? That'd be interesting. I guess that possibly he might offer this for v1 owners specifically, but I highly doubt people can purchase it from him outright.

That's how I read it, but not sure if those were the words exactly. Basically they said that since Tantra 1 wasn't part of their shop system, it's not going to be considered for upgrades. I didn't know that about crispytuner, interesting.

The strange thing is that, to me at least, the forthcoming version is not a v2 upgrade : it seems to be basically the same as V1 with a new GUI... which took years to come to life.
So making existing users pay full price just for a (worse) GUI would be awkward at least.
