Any launch date updates? Screenshots?? It's funny, I have been using bitwig a lot lately and sometimes I wonder if they kinda copied a lot from Mulab. I 💕 Mulab!!! Just waiting for 9 suspense is killing me!!!😂

The natives are definitely getting restless...
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

It's been sooo long! But it'll be worth it.

This is so exciting!
any release date yet?

can we test it already? :)))

Post

I too would love to test the beta :)

Post

There currently is no concrete release date yet as MuLab 9 still has to go thru its beta test stage and better to first see how that flows. Hopefully a first beta test will be ready next month.

Some extra news:

MuLab 9 will be more flexible wrt audio and event recording.
In M8 it was not possible to add audio recorders outside the main project modular area, and also not in M8 Plug-In, but in MuLab 9 that will all be possible.
Also the event recorders will have the same options, and it will also be possible to link an event recorder to a track.
For an audio /event recorder can be used in 2 modes: Linked to a track, in which case recording is started/stopped by the composer's main record button (typical DAW way), or as a separate recorder module, in which case recording is started/stopped independently.

More news coming soon.

Sweeet
Can't wait to see how will it work as a vst! :)

I hope it will be lightweight on cpu and ram as much as possible
I really dig Mux vst's performance

Doing it that way it will appear more as the next 'big thing' and will spark some interest in the community, potentially resulting in new Mulab users whereas adding the clip launcher in M.9.x may not be as prominent in the news.
I agree. So now that the MuLab as Plugin works are more or less finished, R&D focus switched back to the Live Part Matrix again. Hopefully it will progress fluently from 70% to 100%.

I am a little confuses.
The first two versions I could buy are both with the Mux synth.
First on is with Mux integratet.
Second on is with a Mux key.

I dont understand what the difference is.

Mulab runs as a standalone app and standalone only whereas MUX needs a host to run, that is your preferred DAW whether its Reaper, Cubase, Logic, Ableton etc.

So if you want Mulab to be your main DAW for music you should buy Mulab, if you already have another DAW and you are satisfied with it, but you still like the modular capabilities of Mulab, in this case you should buy MUX as it will let you run itself as a VST plugin.

The waiting for M9 beta is killing me :ud:

I understand. I have a similar feeling and wish M9 could already be shared. But it's indeed best to try to get the Live Part Matrix also ready for the M9.0 release.

As background info i can add that MuLab has undergone some serious architectural restructurings with future developments in mind and so i'm hopeful all these M9 developments will also deliver more new musical features with M9.x, M10, ... (Already have several things in mind)

I'm still hopeful a first M9.0 beta version can be shared in about a month.

Fantastic work Jo. Thanks for the update and all your hard work.

Looking forward to it! Meanwhile, I'm still having a great time with MuLab 8. :tu:
