First, my favorite preset name is "Waldorf on Golf." Bravo.

Second, SR could probably have packaged this thing with only the elements samples and still had a winner. With all the instruments on top of the elements, along with the on-board effects, this thing has me drooling even more than my usual Homer Simpson-esque self.

Mmmmmm, SS2!
You like that patch name? Me too. That was one of mine. I went around the office making everyone laugh with that one. We have fun. Although it is a lot of hard work doing that many sounds. I am not sure what we were thinking. I don't think we realized how big this was really goin to end up. I even took some stuff out (mostly more synths that had subtle differences... like every level of sweeps on different modulars and stuff... the comes a point where it gets a little heavy if you go too far there, but then again it is nice to have it when you are MAKING patches so I am sure we'll see some of the things that didn't make it into the main set see the light of day one way or another.)

I think that Sonik Synth 2 is really several things in one. It's an all around workstation but it is also a dedicated vintage module but also a good element combination synth. I was thinking the same thing. SS2 with JUST the elements and patches can do more than a lot of VI rompler type products out there already. But, having a 152 meg piano, tons of great drum kits and percussion, guitars with amp sim, orchestral and vocal textures, ethnic instruments and everything else is hopefully something that makes it rounded off nicely for people's compositional needs and their desire to get the best bang for the buck.

Maybe we went a little too far. This could have been three or more products and it would have still been good. However, this is a special thing to us. Sonic Synth 1 was our most successful product and it just seems fitting to give it's sequel a big boost in value like that. It certainly rewards the people that helped us out with the first one if they take advantage of the upgrade discount.

Feel free to go too far any time you like Squids.
I'm not going to complain.

The more I look at this preset list the less I understand why I was thinking of possibly passing this up.

Talk about VFM.

I bought "Sonic synth 1" a couple of years ago. My problem is, how am I going to prove it when I want to upgrade to "Sonic synth 2"? I can't find any serial-number.

Please help... :(

Kire,

Here's what the esoundz website says about proving ownership of SS1:

"In order to qualify for this special upgrade offer, you must own either Sonic Synth 1 or SampleTank® 2 XL. If you did not purchase either product from esoundz.com, you will need to fax 954-835-0229 or email proof of purchase to esoundz.com before we can authorize and ship your upgrade."

Hope that helps.

Hi!

Thank you, but I knew that.

I just wonder how I can prove to them that I have a license when I have lost my serialnumber. It was so long time ago that I bought it so I do not have that note with the serialnumber left!

Best regards,
Kire

Contact sales@esoundz.com and explain where and when you bought it. If you still have the receipt that's a no brainer. If you don't then maybe you can send it in to prove it. The only reason that option isn't offered in general is because it is not supposed to be for anyone who bought it second hand (they would not have the license to be able to qualify for upgrades). But, you know, we're all nice people and if you're a respectful friendly person to the esoundz guys they'll do their best to get you what you want. Just remember that there is always a human there to work out whatever doesn't happen automatically on the site.

Good to know you can't go overboard guys. The DVDs were so packed that it barely fit onto two of them! The combis had to go on a separate disc. I'll post the list of combis soon. But, today I am making a video of demoing the combis so you can hear some really awesome sounding stuff!

Does it have Oberheims???? Of course!

Oberheim SEM, 4 voice & 8 voice
OBX, OBXa, OB8
Xpander/Matrix 12

But, the elements section has some SERIOUS SEM stuff that is beautiful raw material for making synth patches. The funny thing is that we haven't even gone heavily into our own virtual analog patches just made from the raw waves and elements. So, everything you see so far in the lists is just the beginning! I have a few surprises and I think that we'll all be able to share more patches for it too. Talk about fun and creative stuff! After purchase value on this should be huge (and it was good to begin with!).

Don't rush him - every delay probably means him programming more fantastic combis for us. :D

Both Sonik Synth 2 and the Holiday Capsule are done and off to press. We're just waiting for it all to come back from the plant. It doesn't help that they are slammed this time of year though. Oh well. Patience is a virtue. :D

How are the brass sections in SS2?

I'm looking for ballsy, bombastic brass section sounds, and the brass section patch in OmniSynth is just about the worst sound I've ever heard. Weak and uninspiring, ugh. :x

Now that its finished, how many mb, patches and combis is it finally?

Also I would like to know what is the date limit to be able to purchase with the promo price (I own ST2, SS1 and SStation).

Thanks in advance
