You like that patch name? Me too. That was one of mine. I went around the office making everyone laugh with that one. We have fun. Although it is a lot of hard work doing that many sounds. I am not sure what we were thinking. I don't think we realized how big this was really goin to end up. I even took some stuff out (mostly more synths that had subtle differences... like every level of sweeps on different modulars and stuff... the comes a point where it gets a little heavy if you go too far there, but then again it is nice to have it when you are MAKING patches so I am sure we'll see some of the things that didn't make it into the main set see the light of day one way or another.)Frunobulax wrote:
First, my favorite preset name is "Waldorf on Golf." Bravo.
Second, SR could probably have packaged this thing with only the elements samples and still had a winner. With all the instruments on top of the elements, along with the on-board effects, this thing has me drooling even more than my usual Homer Simpson-esque self.
Mmmmmm, SS2!
I think that Sonik Synth 2 is really several things in one. It's an all around workstation but it is also a dedicated vintage module but also a good element combination synth. I was thinking the same thing. SS2 with JUST the elements and patches can do more than a lot of VI rompler type products out there already. But, having a 152 meg piano, tons of great drum kits and percussion, guitars with amp sim, orchestral and vocal textures, ethnic instruments and everything else is hopefully something that makes it rounded off nicely for people's compositional needs and their desire to get the best bang for the buck.
Maybe we went a little too far. This could have been three or more products and it would have still been good. However, this is a special thing to us. Sonic Synth 1 was our most successful product and it just seems fitting to give it's sequel a big boost in value like that. It certainly rewards the people that helped us out with the first one if they take advantage of the upgrade discount.
