I can't choose to automate the LFO type between gate and free......in my daw......maybe i'm missing something.....like if i want to automate a part of my song to play the midi notes and automate my LFO to retrigger for 3 bars but have it run free for the rest of the 5 bars......i cant seem to do that.....like it wont let me chose it when i click on configure in ableton....when you click configure you click on the knob in zebra and it lets you assign that to an ableton macro knob...it wont let me do that for LFO retrigger type.....it does for the LFO rate setting though......

oh yea sorry, its zebra....i dont get why that wouldnt be avaialable........should be, i guess you can just assign a second lfo....it's just that...i was wanting to use it for a volume lfo on an oscillator.... so since you can only assign the volume mod knob to one mod......youd have to assign a second retrig lfo to the global parameters.......thats the workaround i guess....but it would seem to be better to able to assign the LFO triggering option
you can automate that option on operator in ableton live...and also the lfo type........i noticed you cant assign that either.....both of those capabilities would be good to have.....unless i'm missing something here.

Zebra has two different types of LFOs: Global ones and per-voice ones. Global ones run independent from voices while per voice ones are retriggered. Global ones are called "LfoG1" and "LfoG2".
This was historically done to save performance when only a single LFO shared by all voices was needed.

I'd use an LFO and a global LFO and assign them in a ModMixer, set up to crossfade with the contant value. Then automate the ModMixer's Constant knob to crossfade between the two.Inversoundzzz wrote: LFO to retrigger for 3 bars but have it run free for the rest of the 5 bars.....
There may be more intuitive ways but I hadn't had a coffee yet.

Since you seem to be using Live, you could also make an Instrument rack with two instances of Zebra, one with the triggered and one with the synced LFO. Map a macro to the chain control and automate that.
Urs' suggestion seems more straightforward though, but keep it in mind as an option.

just wanted to add the Arp rate...to the title.....you should be able to automate the arpeggiator rate.......from your DAW.....or some other additional modulation abilities with the arp/sequencer as the target
ie. have the note length as a target or the note duration, so you could modulate the actual arp midi timing from within zebra...or from your daw
lol i know the workaround is to actually draw the midi notes in ....for somethign like a drum roll im saying.....but i'm just throwing ideas out there eh
i'm using th arppegiator on a kick drum patch....so this the context i was talking in
