The devs announced that they were switching to yearly .5 updates rather than yearly whole updates. So this year saw WF 11.5. So I think 12 will come out next year, probably around Namm.
The devs have also been radio/update silent for a few months, though, and that often presages a new release of some kind (not necessarily Waveform-related).

2022's NAMM is going to be in the summer (June 3rd-5th) rather than at the end of January, so I suspect there will be a temporary disconnect and we'll get announcements from Tracktion via other channels, probably in the usual late January and with a release in February or March.

I thought it was just a one-off, but I may have missed something.spoontechnique wrote: Sun Oct 10, 2021 12:08 pm The devs announced that they were switching to yearly .5 updates rather than yearly whole updates.

The main thing they discuss in the livestream is the return of the color editor.

That's nice, but it'll be tough to swallow a $70 upgrade cost for the freaking color editor.
Fortunately, Waveform's version updates have been pretty substantive, historically.

I got the impression that the color editor was only a small preview. 9-10 and 10-11 were worth it for me, with ~2 years between 11 and 12 I suspect the next update will be worthwhile.

Hi, been busy working, don't spend that much time on KVR anymore. Not sure how much I'm allowed to say, but 12 will coming in the new year sometime. Yes, there is a lot more than just a colour editor. I think there will be several features people will be happy to have, plus continuing work on cleaning up old parts and making things more consistent.

There will be a live stream on Facebook on Wednesday February 9th. There was due to be one today, so perhaps it was just put back.
From the Facebook post: "Join us on our first live stream of 2022 on Wednesday 9th February 2022, to meet the creators of the immensely popular Waveform DAW. Discover what the Tracktion team and the amazing developers have planned for 2022 and have your questions answered from the developers and CEO themselves."
I'm assuming this will be the first news release about Waveform 12.
