How to split multi-midi-output

How can I split the multi-midi output from a midi plugin to different racks, so that each rack receives his input from a different midi channel?

Put the VST in a MUX, connect it to a MIDI Channel Splitter module, then connect the outputs of the splitter to your target racks.

That doesn't work for me. I use RapidComposer, put it in a Mux, choose different midi outputs and connect it to a splitter, which is connected to rack1 , rack2 etc. Then I put some synths into the racks , but there is no sound. What am I doing wrong?

Use an Event Monitor to analyse the MIDI event flows.
