Hi checked V15 and noticed some weird thing about how parameters are represent in Cubase.

After i see in change log:
Plugins now preset parameter names to the DAW starting with the name followed by the group, to ensure it will be displayed better in limited size automation lanes for example.
I don't know how its visible in other daws but in Cubase in V14 was way better.

Let me elaborate:
V14: Image
As you can see parameter names represents correctly. LP-Filter=LP-Filter in daw, Volume=Volume in daw etc etc (marked orange)

However in V15:
Image
Parameter names represents as "groups" (marked yellow)

In practice(as you can see from image above) you cannot distinguish between 2 parameters which one is "LP-FILTER" and which is "HP-Filter" both are labeled as "M...-HPFILTER" which isn't the case with V14.

Is there some option to be visible like before? If not global setting of that will be handy.

Thanks

To check this out, can you let us know what you have loaded in MXXX1 ?

Hi and thanks for jumping in.

Its basically my utility tool that I made for myself. It consist EQ and Utility.
LP and HP are "multiparameters" of EQ (pretty explanatory) and
Volume and Gain are "multiparameters" of Utility.

But I think whatever device/preset you load that have Group name in appearance tab of multiparameter that automation will be visible under that group name no matter which parameter automate. At least that how it is represented in Cubase I don't know how are in other DAW-s.

It looks good on Bitwig 4.0.4 with V15.00

Edit: I failed to properly read your first post. I guess either Melda or Cubase should provide a setting for this.

Yeah it seems that Bitwig has full view of parameter name.
In Cubase apparently name got visible from the end and change in V15 makes all names visible by group, so from your Bitwig screenshot that parameter will be presented in cubase as "...g Modulation" instead of "...Gain" not beneficial for Cubase users at all. And as working with Cubase more than a decade knowing Steinberg they won't do anything to change that or give ability to choose how names of the paraments will be displayed in automation lane.

That being said I really hope there will be option to change that in the future.

The format of of the parameter name in v15 is: <multiparameter name> (<group i.e. panel) name>. This format is used as some DAWs display only the first 16 characters of a plug-in parameter name and <multiparameter name> is the most important part of the name.

In Reaper this is displayed as: <multiparameter name> (<group i.e. panel name) / <FX name>

It looks like, in Cubase, this is formatted as <FX name> <multiparameter name> (<group i.e. panel name) and then truncated to fit by removing the second character onwards until it ends up with keeping part of the group name.

In Waveform, it is also formatted as <FX name> >> <multiparameter name> (<group i.e. panel name) but is shown in full.

-----------------------
I think that in v14 the format was: (<group i.e. panel) name> <multiparameter name> . But that could result in several parameters in the DAW seeming to have the same name, when truncated; that is the group name.

Yes correct that is how represented in Cubase with V15.
With V14 is "plugin name>group-panel name>multiparameter name"

Sadly there is no way to change order nor in melda nor in cubase.... :(
