From Linux : Running Windows versions

The context is this: I got a sequencer (Sugar Bytes' Nest), a Windows plugin that runs nicely in Linux using wine and linvst, that itself can host plugins. The Nest sequencer, being a Windows app, cannot see the Linux plugins. And so, I'd like to use the main u-he synths I already got running natively in Linux with this sequencer by installing their Windows counterparts. That would be DarkZebra, Diva, Hive, Bazille, Repro1 and 5.
1) Is it allowed to run both Linux and Windows synths using the same license ? (basic question, I certainly think it is)
2) Is there a way to automatically have all the Windows synths registered eg. not having to enter a license for each by re-using the existing Linux licenses ?
Thanks, tschüß

Yes, you can run the plugins on Linux, Windows and Mac all with the same license.
You could find the registration file on Linux, and copy it to the corresponding Windows folder (this might work, though I haven't tested it).
But the time it takes to do that is probably the same it takes you to simply enter your user name and serial numbers on Windows.

A copy of the required license files still seems faster than entering 6 user names and serial numbers. Not that 5 minutes makes that much of a change in one's life, although I was wondering 1) if there are any characters in the Linux license files that the Windows versions of the synths would not properly process (eg. LF for CR/LF) and 2) where would these be located on a Windows system ?

You can copy and paste the serial numbers, it's really not that time consuming.mevla wrote: Mon Oct 18, 2021 4:23 pm A copy of the required license files still seems faster than entering 6 user names and serial numbers.
1 - That might very well be, as I said, it's not been tested, so I am not sure if it will actually work.
2 - Once you loaded the plugin on Windows, it will create a "Support" folder in the plugin's data folder. That's where the license file goes.

I've seen Windows plugins that will not accept the data copied from Linux. Maybe wine/linvst does not forward everytime the data that's put in the OS copy buffer to the other OS. Certainly the Windows plugins cannot communicate between multiple instances of themselves running in with wine/linvst as each plugin receives its own dedicated space.tasmaniandevil wrote: Tue Oct 19, 2021 4:30 am You can copy and paste the serial numbers, it's really not that time consuming.
I will try with copying the files.

Mevla, have you tried Yabridge instead of linvst?
