Can you confirm if your Eventide plugs are actually running Native? I only have Quadravox (updated to the latest version) and when I hover over the Eventide logo it says the version number and Intel not ARM. It also states this plug has added M1 support in the changelog but it looks like it is more compatible and not Native yet.bysbox1 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 8:47 pmTronam wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 7:15 pmThe update post implies all of them, which is good news if true. Just tried the VST3 version of Blackhole in Live 11.1 beta on my M1 and it works just fine.

Blackhole 3.8.11
Omnipressor 3.9.9
SP2016 Reverb 1.5.9
Oh snap. Eventide is iLok.
Hopefully we'll see more iLok plugins follow suit.

I have Blackhole, H3000, Ultrachannel all running native ARM in Logic.davestretch wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 2:18 pm Can you confirm if your Eventide plugs are actually running Native? I can confirm Intel is displayed on the following plugins in the Anthology bundle:davestretch wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 2:18 pmCan you confirm if your Eventide plugs are actually running Native? Huh. Yeah, they do not list those as M1 on the specs. They announced that all plugins were native on their forums. I wonder if they consider these legacy now?

This blog post by LiquidSonics sheds a small amount of light on the current iLok situation. Unfortunately it may not be as clear cut as I hoped.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that a company that specializes in copy protection requires NDAs regarding the architecture of their protection, but damn this is frustrating. Thanks for the link.Tronam wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 10:05 pm This blog post by LiquidSonics sheds a small amount of light on the current iLok situation. He says in the post: "With a major transition it’s also natural that some parts of a dependency can become available sooner than others, that will release some while others are still held up."Tronam wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 10:05 pm This blog post by LiquidSonics sheds a small amount of light on the current iLok situation. What does he mean by "a dependency"? Is that all the plugin manufacturers or is it something to do with coding?

A quick question I can't seem to find an answer for - if you are running a Logic Pro native session on M1 and load an Intel plugin(s) does the whole session revert to using Rosetta or just the Plugin(s) in question?
Bad news about the iLok/PACE issues reported by Liquidsonics - especially as they state they have Silicon versions ready to go out. I bet some of the other developers are in the same situation....but others who do not use iLok really have no excuse to have not got Silicon versions out yet. I know Plugin Alliance have given a November date for M1 but can't see anything from Arturia, IK, iZotope. Who would have guessed Waves would beat so many companies to this?!?!?!

I can’t speak for Logic, but Live’s M1 beta simply does not display any vsts that aren’t M1 Native, so they can’t be opened. You’d need to open the daw in Rosetta mode from the get go.
You can open AUs though, as Apple’s AUCompatibiltyHost enables this.
RE Ilok, I directly asked Soundtoys for a timeline and their answer was similar, but more cagey, than LiquidSonics’. So yes, I suspect plenty of ilok reliant devs are awaiting specific components they need for PACE before they can release updates.

No, Rosetta2 does not work that way. To run an app under Rosetta, you have to launch it that way. Apple has an AU compatibility layer that allows any DAW supporting AU to run Intel plugins in a subprocess. They can be mixed and matched with native plugins, provided the DAW is running native.davestretch wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 8:33 am A quick question I can't seem to find an answer for - if you are running a Logic Pro native session on M1 and load an Intel plugin(s) does the whole session revert to using Rosetta or just the Plugin(s) in question?

As for Waves, this is not really surprising. They use a common framework for all plugins, and everything is updated all at once as part of it. So they don't have to touch each plugin individually unless the plugin is using AVX or assembly code. Some devs have a similar situation, such as u-He, in that most of their plugins are using a common base framework.

Pretty sure Soundtoys won't be releasing native versions until Soundtoys 6 comes out, so it will likely be a paid upgrade. That's probably why they are cagey.J0nnyMac78 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 9:46 am RE Ilok, I directly asked Soundtoys for a timeline and their answer was similar, but more cagey, than LiquidSonics’. PSPaudioware just released their first native plugin called ‘PSP Saturator’:
https://www.pspaudioware.com/products/psp-saturator
They also appear to be among the small group of iLok devs willing to give up some potential protection to get the plugin out earlier. I’ve never seen anyone refer to it as “macOS Silicon” before though; Yet another name variation to throw into the mix. We have ARM, ARM64, M1, Apple Silicon and now macOS Silicon, with even more on the way for M1 Pro and M1 Max. Fun times.
